With the recent celebration of Diwali, and the upcoming holidays of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, it made me wonder what are the religions affiliations of members of JUB.

So, I created a poll. Can you please select which religion you most closely identify with, or follow? **

** Note -- The poll is NOT asking how devout you are, or how often you attend religious services at your house of worship. That is why I left off options such as "Spiritual, but not religious" from the poll. However, if you don't believe in God at all, "atheism" is listed in the poll.

Also, please feel free to discuss further in the thread below.

None currently, but all the way up to age 17 I was brought up in the Mormon church.

Thanks everyone for participating in the poll so far! :)

I was raised Catholic but would consider myself Atheist.

Buddhism...though it's not exactly a religion...:?

Praise Cthulhu and hail Satan, bow to the Flying Spaghetti Monster(may his noodley appendages reach around to protect me) and pay homage to Mother Earth(the most vicious) while offering sacrifices to Kharma - the wrestler and the goddess of revenge(an eye goes blind as your eye blinks). 6 sides on 6 stars dripping 6 drops of blood.

(i'm an atheist - which is not a religion)

Confucianism isn't Taoism. The former is personal conduct, the latter mysticism.

My upbringing makes me lean towards Confucianism, which isn't a religion either. Personal observances for one's ancestors - prayer, offerings, and remembrances for them do involve some ceremonial roles and incantations to summon, address and offer wishes and then send their spirits back after the ceremonies, but, they seem to be ritualised especially the offerings of paper money, food, and libations.

Eclectic Pagan.

I started off with Wicca, then decided that I didn't like the limitations that it imposed on my spiritual beliefs; thus, I decided to walk my own path.

Nicely said =) I'm Wiccan but starting to lean more toward Pagan.

Christianity of course...I Respect any Man's Faith and what he chooses to believe.

I would never date an Atheist. My Love For God and my walk with him is too personal to have someone in my life that is not a believer.....You share everything with your Lover...

I did not do the Poll because I don't do JUB-POLLS where my choice & username is displayed.

I respect your choice to not participate in the poll.

The reason why I chose to keep the poll public was for two reasons -- 1) When asked, most people tend to be open & forthcoming about their religious affiliation, and 2) I thought it might be nice for JUBers of the same faith (especially if they are from a non-Christian religion) to know that there are other JUB'ers who share the same religion or religious background (or lack thereof) as they do.

Neither is Atheism, but oh well. ;)

I chose Atheism. I don't think one can know for certain if there is or isn't a god, but I'm very skeptical and live my life under the assumption that there isn't one.

Are you Chinese?

I am a mix of both Buddhism and Taoism.

Deist - I believe in a creator, but I don't believe in any organized religion, most of which have been used as little more than a political tool throughout the ages.

I'm an atheist. Never believed in an imaginary guy in the sky, never will. And I'm damn proud of it too!
