I love creative products. I got the creative zen v plus this year and have been very happy with it. I put a lot of wear and tear on this product (lots of yard work and sports) and it takes the punishment.

My advice. Save some money and go with creative.

I own two Ipods and I love them. They may look simple but they do have different features that are worth the price. They are very user friendly (especially if you are downloading your music from itunes). Plus..the prices of Ipods have gone down significantly within the last year. Just something for you to think about.

If you decide on the iPod, it might be best buying a case for it. They scratch incredibly easy.

I have a white iPod nano and love it. Along with being incredibly small and easy to use, there are countless podcasts for you to download and listen to when you want a change from music.

if u need one now you should get the creative.......but if you wait you can get the microsoft zune at the end of the year.:-)

Get an iPod. They're priced lower now, and they've upgraded them a bit. Brighter screen, games, and you can download movies on iTunes. ^_^

go with the ipod.
you will have way more accessories that are available.
you will have a larger storage space than the zen for a cheaper price.

another vote for: iPod

i have a video iPod and i love it to death. yeah maybe the creative has better features but the combo of iPod + iTunes is unbeatable!

Creative, but that's because I don't use iTunes.

iPod. iTunes has everything you could possibly need. Sure they don't have every cd, music video, game or movie, books, tv shows but what they have so far is great.

I have had my 60GB iPod for a few months now and I got it for $400 dollars. Now you can get a 80GB iPod for $349, which kinda pisses me off, but I think for those who don't have one yet is a great price.

Get the 80GB iPod. If you're going to get any MP3 player get the best there is, and I think this is it.

I personally would ditch the "cuteness" in favour of something that's functional.
For me, it's "form over function" any day of the week.

If it's a bit cheaper and it still does all the things I need it to do, I'd buy the cheaper one.

To me iPods are crap, I never buy anything from Apple, even though you might convert yourself to an iMac or any of the Apple products, I don't trust iPod, I'd take anything but an iPod. I don't even consider iPod to be an MP3 player, it really is its own player with its own format. What does it use M4A files or something like that? I'd choose the Creative Zen V Plus because it gives you a good range of formats as with an iPod you have to convert all MP3 files to iPod's format, GAY!

my ipod lets me use my mp3 files on it without having to convert them to m4p. i still have an original 5GB iPod - first generation - that still works perfectly. i bought a battery from Fry's and installed it and it still works.

I have both...the Ipod & Zen...I regret to admit the battery loss rumors are true...I've had mine just a few months and the battery is already quickly fading...the Zen sounds better and you get more storage space for the price...however, the decision is completely person, what it boils down to is this...if you want the "cool" factor (meaning accessories, simple look, popularity), get the Ipod, if you want the "functional" factor (meaning more space, more functions, better sound), get the Zen...really just personal preference

and can you use it on a computer without iTunes?
nope ..

and successfully voided your warranty :)
Actually, the MP3 files that I upload into iTunes can be listened to on any computer with or without iTunes. The DRM built into iTunes only applies to music and videos that are downloaded from ITMS. Anything else doesn't have the DRM. The music that I upload can be put on any MP3 player and not just the iPod.
The warranty had already expired by the time I needed a new battery. The iPod is over 3 years old.

You've got to be kidding me. I bought mine last year. 200 for the 2 GB version.

I hate Buying stuff -_-'

Ive had iPod video, but when i tried a friends creative zen vision m, i changed my iPod for a creative.. The quality is much better, looks better, and is cheaper!

Go for the creative;)

i was talking about the iPOD - go ahead and show me like you can fill it with mp3s on a computer without iTunes. you can fill it with mp3s - but it won't play them.
and when you put the mp3s with iTunes on the iPod and try to extract them to a computer without iTunes - yes that works .. somehow, but its freaking donkeywork.
