What shows do you think went on too long?

Two And A Half Men - it should have ended when Charlie Sheen left / was fired

Law and Order SVU. As much as I love it the last few seasons haven't been as strong and a lot of the new episodes are repeats of past (and superior) storylines.

Broadcast networks have such a cheap approach to primetime lineups that numerous series have gone on autopilot and been given easy renewals. People stay tuned for the comfy feel of their familiarity. Each of ABC, CBS, and NBC have their brands. That may be, for some, enough.

Days of our Lives - waaaaaayyyyyyy too long

Same for me. I loved the show but the last couple of years have been very disappointing.

I have completely stopped watching this season. The Elliot comeback isn't working for me at all - neither are most of the newer characters and storylines.

IKR? I was so psyched for the Benson/Stabler reunion and the first episode was good, but was it necessary to have an SVU/Organized Crime crossover every other week?

Not feeling the new SVU characters either and would love to see former ADA's Alex and Casey return for an episode or two.

My answer: Supernatural.

The ending sucked. The quality of the writing went down in the last year or two. If they had maintained good scripts with fresh ideas, it could have gone on. I watched that show for the whole 15 seasons. It was brilliant at times.

The problem with most network shows these days is the story quality suffers for lack of time because of all the commercials. There are barely 40 minutes or less to tell the story in an hour show. The stories become so abbreviated that they are not that interesting anymore and are hard to follow. One cannot stay engaged with all the idiotic interruptions and weak plot lines.

Oh yeah. A few weeks ago I finished watching the entire show, and I was very happy about it! I liked the ending, although I know that many fans have received it ambiguously. In general, it seems to me that after the 10th season the series could have ended. I don’t understand why the show needs a 12th season at all ... In any case, the TV show has just awesome episodes, and I’m glad I watched it to the end.

Revenge. What goes around comes around, and around, and around....

I have to disagree! It is one of my favorite shows. Every show is new and fresh and is taken from the headlines. Mariska Hargitay is great on the show too!

I don't like Law & Order: Organized Crime. As much as I like Christopher Meloni, I don't think the show's writing is as good as SVU. Also the original Law & Order I don't like the new shows either. I liked the original series better when it first started.

Probably Grey's Anatomy I don't follow it but 19 seasons that's a lot and the daytime soaps oh my mom loves those hahahaha :rotflmao:

Some of the game shows I feel IMO are getting tired and boring I mean i loved them but "Price is Right" "Wheel of fortune" "Jeopardy" etc. I like them but i feel like they have been on for too long. I'm not crazy over the daytime talkers either i used to watch "Ellen" but now she's gone, and she annoyed me towards the end. Occasionally I DVR record The Drew Barrymore Show or Kelly Clarkson if a guest I like is on a talk show. Don't get me started on The View that one should be gone lmao they always fight about politics.

I don't think the newer seasons are necessarily bad, but imo they're not as fresh or strong as the ones from even three or so seasons ago. It's inevitable that a show that's been on for more than 20 years will run into those problems and recycle themes from prior seasons. No complaints about Mariska's acting. I love the evolution of Olivia from a young detective finding her way to an official commanding officer boss lady.
