I don't know if stores in Canada have sales or not, personally I buy what I need, not what's on sale.

As I pointed out in the OP, I had to help a little old lady get some of this cheap meat that you refer to.

As a cheep, greedy, racist, warmongering, capitalist American, I helped an old lady and yes the assholes who pushed her around pissed me off, maybe Canadians don't help old ladies, I was raised differently.

I might paint an entire culture that way now that you mention it. The British know how to queue for example. That behaviour is not expected in all cultures, even though it should be. An old lady in a sook or some other market square somewhere might do just fine in the clamouring hordes because she'd have grown up with it and expected it.

But it should still change, because lining up is just better. It isn't universal though, and that is a cultural thing that counts for or against a culture. Certainly I am in favour of a multicultural and pluralist society. But the point of that is so we can all learn the best from each other. And hordes of shoppers just aren't the best way to live in a civilised society.

This reminds me of the Thanksgiving Night "Sales". I attempted to go to Best Buy and to Wal-Mart for this big screen TV for my office...I like diversions when I am working..and the people are insane trying to get one.

NO is the answer...I can't do it...don't have it in me. I am pretty sure I would feel gross about it if I had to dive and maneuver to get a fucking TV....

I am going to try the online sales though this year...some of the prices are in the same ballpark....

When I am driving..I am racist...ageist...sexist...xenophobic...homophobic..you name it. I cuss out whatever driver is fucking up the traffic or doing something stupid and I DO notice everything about them when I am cussing them out...and I am an equal opportunity offender...white people get it the worst because there are more of them BUT I will cuss anyone out....

I suspect it is similar for you. Had it been any group of people doing the same thing you probably would have had a similar reaction. Next time..do what I do...assume they are all Republicans

Why don't I see Americans doing these things? The answer is that I don't, not as a group.
So, I can live in this cesspool of blatant greed all of my life and not be tinged by it, but, let someone step off of a plane and the virus of greed and corruption strikes.

But you do see them as a group. At least I have. Usually either a single mother/aunt grandma pick one Who is deliberately blocking whatever it is with a cart and kids to go through every package before letting others peak or a nuclear family (but not extended.) doing the same thing - plus 'stocking up' and having another family member buy the same deal, just keep it in the same cart.

They're all still citizens, so they're American by default, as it were. The country itself does laud 'every man for himself'. It still thinks it's a goddamn nation of temporarily embarrassed millionaires, which means only the impolite behaviors one does oneself are considered 'reasonable' to get ahead.

If you can't get, read or reach an item go to checkout and explain, they'll get your item or give a coupon for later. Perhaps management can suggest they buy wholesale. However, the store knows what they're doing and so far, the store gives not one shit. 'I don't see this because I'm receiving money' should also be less than socially acceptable. It's rarely mentioned, though, because of those 'reasonable expectations to get ahead'.

It was not the intent of posting this to stereotype any one, I have pointed out what I have seen on numerous occasions and what the management readily agrees happens, management won't act as they don't want to be accused of stereotyping people.

Nah. I've never met a store that had an issue with watching, pointing out or questioning suspected shoplifters and that's consistently stereotyping. Insisting on an order to receive meat occurs all the time, particularly in deli and if there's an unruly mob. Stores can, and have, kicked groups out. They have video of the behavior in their aisles, for christs sake. If they actually wanted to change the behavior it's pretty simple to do. Individuals might care about the situation, the store does not.

That is when the store management has to put its foot down and refuse service to said group. If they continuously break the rules and cause trouble for not only employees but customers as well the management would be well within its rights to send them on their way to shop elsewhere. Security/police should be called at the first sign of this group attempting to prevent other customers from accessing sales items like that.
