Merry Christmas Everybody!
This music thread is amazing. I haven't had this much fun in years - of course JUB Rocks,
you guys are the Best.

This is not a holiday song but it is special.

When Diana Ross left the Supremes in 1970 for her solo career the stage was set for the New Supremes to go in a different direction. For the crazy, dynamic thrill ride of the music scene of '70/'71 the Supremes released a song that didn't catch me right away. Maybe it really was ahead of its time, but the song, "Nathan Jones" has caught fire recently and I had to take a second listen, especially the 45rpm version.

But I'm not alone, a lotta people have looked back and today "Nathan Jones" is being recognized as a genuine groundbreaker of a song. I now consider "Nathan Jones" as the best song the Supremes ever produced, with or without Diana Ross.

You'll have to take my word for it, in 1971 no one was expecting to hear anything like this!

Very difficult, if not impossible to follow The Supremes and Nathan Jones, but here is what I have just been listening to anyway!

Simply Beautiful.
Judie's voice lifts me up and I can face the world one more day. Magnificent song.

"Soldiers Who Want To Be Heroes", never thought I'd hear it again.
