What song was number one when you were born?

Re: Website: What Song was Number One on the Billboard Charts on the Day You Were Born ?

Play that Funky Music by Wild Cherry, 19/9/76. Had it been '79 it would have been the FAR superior My Sharona.

In fact, adding on a decade or 2 or 3 and it's STILL a shit song which was #1 on that date.

In America is was "hey Jude."

In my country of Canada it was "those were the days."

So... Songs sung by a room full of drunk people.

On Billboard it was Mr. Big - To Be With You, I've never heard of it and didn't like it that much

In the UK where i live it was Shakspeare's Sister- Stay (Much better song IMO if only for is't weird music video and parody :P)

I saw a post elsewhere from Kester and it gave me a great idea.... so what was it? You can clikc on the link and find out.... http://www.joshhosler.biz/

mine was "I feel the earth move" by Carol King which was also tied with "it's too late" they were two A side singles that plateaued at the same time.

Awww, I wasn't trying to ruin your fun - and i'm not in music(though i'd LOVE to get back on my guitar), just musical. ..|

You weren't... and 'When doves cry' is an awesome song... you whipper snapper.... :p

I thought you had a musical flare but didnt know if it was professional or just personal interest.

1940 - "I'll Never Smile Again" recorded by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra, with vocals provided by Frank Sinatra and The Pied Pipers.

That's right, 1940. This is my first post after lurking for months. It feels like coming out of the closet again, this time about age but I want to keep myself from lying about my age since I hope to actively participate here. Now I'm on record so there you are.

1951 - Tony Bennett "Because of You".

I hate Tony Bennett. I wish he'd left his mouth in San Francisco as well!

Black cat by Janet Jackson

Lol I've never even heard that song :p

I do like the song, but now it reminds me of the movie American Psycho, since Huey Lewis & the News featured prominently in the soundtrack to that movie.

Well welcome to JUB. You will find everything here like everywhere else but mostly decent guys ... glad you came out so we can hear your voice... so to speak.
