I just made another Facebook account for Friends of Bayocean, because the first one vanished.

I have a page that's mostly pale blue. I have no idea what to do with it next.

Anyone out there who uses Facebook have any guidance?

I would Google: Free Facebook Themes (or Layouts).

Customize, Glitz it up, and make it purdy. :D

i see two pages with the same title and not much there. One dated 2013-06-08 and one dated today.

Don't worry about themes. Photos are your friend. A gallery of "best of" should do it. A brief bit of text explaining where and what a bayocean is, and what people can do there. And what a friend of bayocean would do to exhibit friendship when there.

Every 3 or 4 days, post a one-liner of something interesting you saw or that happened or whatever. And if you know anyone else connected with the place, encourage them to like it.

Upload upload upload.

I can't find the first one. It's the one that should be there.

post lots of pictures of the beach and the work you guys are doing.

ideally with cute animals and/or cats doing cute/crazy stuff.

If you've not severely restricted your audience by using the 'privacy' options, you can usually find your fb acc using the email account you opened it with.

As for facebook, a friend told me that she got a notification this morning which said on the lines of SW added a photo 38 m ago. It showed me showing off a tie I received for Father's day. That was Thursday last week. I'm not sure if FB alerts its users of current events or not. The mobile app I have for my android works to the same principle - all the stuff my friends did days ago appear late on my notifications. Why I have no idea.

All I'm saying is, if you update infrequently, it may be that folks won't receive anything for days and when you have a new post and no one comments, it's the way fb has become....

Any enemy of Scotch Broom is a friend of mine!! I hate that stuff!!

I've pulled over ten thousand of them this year. I'm planning to spray a bunch and leave them in place because they provide a local microclimate that hosts little critters that build soil in the dunes -- though some I will slice off the north side of before killing, and use the shade on the north side to shelter native seedlings. I also have cut down dozens to use for dune-building: they block the wind, making sand drop among the branches; buried, the branches die but hold moisture, and plants grow.
