What the hell is this thing?

Anyone want to offer an opinion on just what this animal is/was that they found in Russia. At first I was thinking a Yak, then some sort of crocodilian, then I saw it was covered in long fur. The thing is/was huge considering how big it is after decomposition and with the men standing next to it. I wouldn't have wanted to meet up with it while it was alive from looking at that mouth.

That would have been the biggest horse in history. Look how long that thing is even in almost total decomposition next to all those men. That thing is a good 20' or more long. And that huge tail with those blade bones on top definitely looks crocodilian.

Well if that thing was a beluga whale, it obviously had been fur shopping at Dicker & Dicker of Beverly Hills before it died.

I've never heard of a beluga whale, only Beluga caviar. I guess they come from the same place (the Caspian Sea)? It does look rather like a whale, from the bone structure, and the teeth suggest a kinship to the orca. Whatever it is, I'm glad it didn't wash up in my backyard.

That is exactly what I was thinking. It looks just like it!! I don't think its a hoax, I don't know what to make of it. I was thinking sea creature as well but it has fur?? So weird...There's lots of species out their that we don't know of...especially in the sea? I'm interested to see what they determine it to be.

You're thinking of Beluga Sturgeon, which yes, is the fish that produces authentic cavier.

As for the tremors idea... that would be sooo freaky! Those massive worms were frightening.

They inhabited the cold regions of this world; but were hunted for food and now the only thing left of them is bones!
