What to do with illegal immigrant criminals in the U.S.?

I don't think that is what Cornell meant in their write-up or me in my interpretation of it. I think it is more that like most things in the Constitution, the basics are laid out and it is up to the branches to flesh it out the details.

Pretending a million a year is not in invasion is not "fleshing out" the Constitution, it is flushing it down.

There is the further thought that illegal and legal entry into the United States by immigrants seeking a better life and/or safe refuge from oppression, and war in the land of their fathers has enabled the United States to grow into the most powerful economy on this planet.

No. We were the greatest economy when we were a relatively unified people up to the 60s. Now we are fractured, divided, divisive, multicultural hodgepodge getting by by borrowing a trillion a year, too keep half the people on welfare.

So you're just going to double down on treating the Constitution as a living document, so long as you can be the one redefining it.

The dictionaries of the time do not allow for your use of "invasion". It is therefore not the definition used by the Constitution. So either admit your use of the term is improper, or that you're no different from the liberals you denounce -- those are the two logical possibilities.

Ignoring the sociological ignorance expressed in the message, I call LIE: you've already been shown that "borrowing a trillion a year" is FALSE.

With a national unemployment rate of 4.7 pct per February 2017 official figures
https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000 one could easily express appreciation for the Obama administration's success in creating jobs over two presidential terms.

The Vietnam War created an enormous fracture in American society with the result that a large chunk of the population lost respect for the political elite, eventually leading to Richard Nixon's resignation. It can be argued that poor political decision making that pursued an unpopular war contributed to rising cyncism that has continued to stalk American politics.

One needs to wonder where all these immigrants are finding work for there is the thought that immigration legal, and illegal contributes to the economic well being of all Americans when understanding that when people purchase goods, and services they are also paying a sales tax that finances state, and federal spending.

I will remind you, once again that with a national unemployment rate of 4.7 pct per February, 2017 official figures https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000 there is an awareness that the American economy is providing work for recent immigrants sufficient to encourage further immigration.

Were Antonio López de Santa Anna to resurrect from his resting place, and invade the United States with his Mexican army I would readily accept your characterisation of invasion...otherwise, illegal entry is patently an accurate representation of the facts.

You persist in ignoring the fact that the unemployment rate does not include those who have given up looking. Immigrants work cheap in competition with the least talented part of the labor pool. The result is that black and hispanic unemployment is still very high. Indeed and entire generation have been left out. http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2016/06/the-missing-men/488858/
Immigration makes it impossible for us to made progress against poverty. There are always more flooding in. Plus jobs are not the only consideration. Immigration negatively impacts all our problems: wages, poverty, education, the environment, crime, crime, health care etc. And they vote democrats to destroy the democracy and free enterprise that created the opportunities that claim to come for. We can never make progress and are clearly spirally down ward.

It would appear that you continue to avoid discussing employment within the invisible economy that exists in every country, notwithstanding that those persons not registered as unemployed are also contributing to the economic well being of your nation. To believe that unregistered persons are not employed is to assume that their invisiblity is not easily recognisable on building sites, restaurant kitchens, bar/cafe back rooms, and hotel service staff "invisibly" cleaning rooms, and in the fields picking fruit, and vegetables.

It's quite clear that reason and logic isn't being used by those who are xenophobic.

I guess the only thing we can all do, is imprison the racists and strip them of their citizenship. Maybe send them to an island somewhere?

Ben, along with the other ancients, would prefer to be like Japan. A shrinking world power of elderly voters and stagnation.
How comforting for those who wish to leave a legacy of unstaffed nursing homes.

It's not immigration that people have a problem with, it's the hateful ideals that some of them are trying to force upon us, and the fact that we're not allowed to object to it.

Oh, you mean people like the Westboro Baptist Church or the KKK (which is a registered religion).

Benvolio claims it's about the 'invasion' money drain on the US, but his not objecting to Trump and his family's drain tells us it's something different - completely different. He objects to arts, or Meals on Wheels, or PBS, or child breakfast meals, but he does not object to the daily drain Trump and his family are forcing onto US citizens. There is a hypocrisy there that he simply will not see or admit to.

Doesn't object to social security for the elderly, for whatever reason...

Though IIRC he opposed enacting a minimum monthly check equal to the poverty level.

Although seniors living on that little only get help from Medicaid if they are willing to let the state take away the house from their children.
