I've heard the opposite of love isn't hate it's indifference, so I'll go with that. Aside from quoting a terrible song, I'm a total type A personality and I can understand some people not getting along with someone continuously happy, but it seems to sting me a little more when someone just acts a little cold or ignores me.

Plus when someone hates you, you tend to have to deal with them less.

If he's HOT and TIGHT, I'd rather he hate on me. 'Cause there's a thin line between love and hate. And passion offered one way can be easily turned another way. I had a sexy dude that just hated me. Talked about me all the time, to anyone who would listen. And I enjoyed taunting him sexually every chance I got. That was a thrill. I got off on that!

Oh please. Sometimes I forget there are other people on planet earth than me. What they think of me never really... I dunno I've never really thought about it before.

I would think indifference would be yours. It would go with your narcissistic line of thought.

"Hey, at least they are thinking of me!"

Hate me. I don't mind someone feeling indifferent towards me since I often feel that way towards others. Of course, just because I'm indifferent towards someone doesn't mean that I'm going to be rude or disrespectful. I probably just don't have a reason to be overly nice. Hate is such a strong word and I can't imagine doing something to someone to get that kind of reaction out of them.

Would your answer change if it was someone that you cared about?

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

Indifference doesn't matter.

Indifference by far. Love me or hate me I don't care, but you better feel something. If you feel nothing, then to me that means you think I'm fake and of no substance. That bugs me.

Being a target of a possessive person. Fiercer than love/hate, sadder than indifference.

I'd have thought it would be fairly obvious that it's FAR worse if someone hates you.

Hatred is a permanent barrier of intolerance. Indifference can either be positive or negative.

You could differentiate between 'friendly indifference' and 'aggressive indifference'.

Compare these two statements:

"It's not my thing, mate, I'm not interested in it, but hey, we can still hang out and stuff."

"Don't bring that subject up again. It's got absolutely nothing to do with me."

So it can mean anything, really.

^^Lets just say I asked this for the pure psychological reasons.

Hating me is always worse than just not caring...

But, given the career choices I'm making, I'm going to have a few people eventually say "Scott ________?! I hate that fucking guy."

Hate to quote it, but...

"Love me, hate me
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls
Are begging to F. U. C. K. ME"

I think in order to feel hatred for someone you must harbour some sort of feelings for that person. To be indifferent to them is being emotionally cut off from them, not caring what they do or say or feel is marginally worse in my opinion than having such a strong feeling like hate.

Should have voted for hate. Because that brings obsession and stalking. Even love can bring hate.

Hate.

Geez, for most of humanity, and for JUB, indifference is definitely the best approach.
