What would be your dream wedding?

Where would you like it held?
What time of year?
Big or small event?
Themed, casual or formal?

I love the idea of a long-term(hopefully forever) relationship, but no interest in the legal tie-downs of an actual marriage...

I had my dream wedding....

County Clerk...I do....go out to eat lunch......|

Marriage was never on my list of things to do...but legal rights under the law after 30 years together was on my list....

I was sick to my stomach for a week after the marriage. I always equated marriage with death. The straight people I knew growing up ruined the "sanctity" of marriage for me....

What would be your dream wedding? Sir Ron's dream wedding would be a small semi-casual affair.

Where would you like it held? I would like it held at the same place of the reception, so that we can marry then almost immediately celebrate.

What time of year? I love autumn, with maybe a little chill in the air.

Big or small event? Smaller event with close family and friends...

Themed, casual or formal? Semi-casual. The wedding party would be be all male (and in tuxes), but the guests don't have to be so formal (so long as they don't come dressed like Duck Dynasty, I'm pretty liberal...)

Before marriage was legal in our state, we always planned a big wedding in our yard for the day we could finally do it.
We always celebrated our anniversary in April, so when we were free to marry, we wanted our wedding to be on that day, not another one during the summer. So we married on beautiful Lake Minnetonka at my husband's grandmother's home on a Thursday.
A judge, a family friend, did the ceremony and there were 78 for dinner. It was a beautiful spring day and perfect for our day.
Then in June of that year we had a reception for everyone else. Over 300 people there and while not one brother or my sister were there, we had 26 of my nephews, nieces and cousins with us. I can't tell you how special that made it.

We knew we did not want a traditional wedding with tuxes and each one of us walking in separately. We did it our way and Tomas and I did not shove cake in each others' faces. I was so proud to celebrate it with our sons.

Okay, I admit it, I cried.

Vegas with Elvis.
At first glance I read that as Vegas with Elves

It would not be the ritual, but the commemoration that would be special. It could be intimate, or more inclusive, but a religious rite for me. I have never imagined it and avoid it lest it become a sadness.

That would be mine as well!!! ..|

For five or six years I played piano for all sorts of events to earn extra money after graduating from college...

And, by far -- MOST of the events were weddings (100's of them)...

I don't EVER want to have to go to another one...

YUCK!!!

Hey -- don't get me wrong -- I LOVE PARTIES -- just, NOT weddings...

:):):)

:=D: .....I don't NEED anyone to do so and I am cool with other opinions....but I love it when someone sees it the same way I do....

It is rare these days....

Pretty soon we are gonna have gay men with their own damn bride's magazine....or maybe there already is one:eek:

Oh yeah...in general I hate other people's weddings too. I don't like anything where I am expected to feel any certain way. My therapist told me years ago that I shouldn't ever attend one. Bless her. I took her advice on most everything she said...but especially that....

We had our dream wedding. It was incredible but will be only a once in a lifetime thing.

Any 'pomp and ceremony' would be focused solely on the signing of the prenuptial.
