What Would Jesus Do If Invited to a Gay Wedding?

this is really cool.

jesus loves, jesus doesn't hate.

those whacko "churches" talk about god hating fags...blah blah blah. they're way off on christianity, though it may not seem so. but they are.

all the christian friends i have are totally cool about me being gay.

THANK YOU! I really needed that!

For all the "Christians" that want to preach hell fire and damnation, I offer you this refresher:

Matthew 22:36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

The only answer I can conceivably come up with for that is that Jesus would likely attend, if not bless the proceedings.

Sounds a lot nicer than those sexuality-bigots who enjoy spewing their Leviticus crap about "man who lays with man as with a woman shall die" hatred which was obviously originally written by a sexuality-bigot.
I like the part about religious dogma, as well as other subjects, in the article.

Most so-called Christians simply pick and choose which parts of the Bible best supports their own agenda, and ignore the rest. I'm not quite sure why they're so hung up on the OT ("Leviticus crap"; thank you Henry!). Maybe because the OT is very rule-oriented, which suits their small minds, and their inability to think for themselves. As to JC at a gay wedding; who bloody knows? Likelihood is that he'd be a lot more open-minded than some of his modern followers.

^THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU METTA!

I can kiss you right now for sharing this video!

If I'm not mistaken, part of what Jesus did was to teach the religious leaders of his time not to get carried away by all the old rules. They often hated him for it, but that was his message.

What Would Muhammad Do If Invited to a Gay Wedding?

You'd better get back to your bridge; I think I hear the three Billy Goats Gruff approaching.

He'd feed the entire reception with just three toast points and two frozen crab cakes.

That's because the Bible is a multifarious collection of documents that has been compiled over the centuries and has evolved with the cultures it came from.

When the angels visited Abraham, he gave them a non-kosher meal of butter, milk and meat.

Later the on, Jewish Law forbade this.

Samuel, the prophet, is usually construed as the last judge and a critic of monarchy. Later on, he annointed the first king.

The Monarchy became the metaphore for the whole Christian religion

Jewish Law prescribes stoning for convicted adultresses.
Christians believe Jesus ended this woeful practice when he wrote in the sand as described in John 8:3 - 11.

One of my ancestors was among the authors of the Geneva Bible, which continued to be the most popular and most read version even for some years after the King James translation.

As learned as these men were, they were, at the end of the day, only well educated medieval scholars.

Their translations from the Latin and Greek have been challenged and found to be as selective as the original Latin bible.

Particulalry, since they were working toward the overthrow of a corrupt Italian influence on their politics and church.

What would Jesus do? Maybe he'd explain that human biology, over millions of years since creation, had evolved with adaptations that included homosexuality and that as one of the big three, He could say without hesitation that the Father and the Holy Spirit were in total agreement.

Maybe he'd say that the contract of marriage was pretty meaningless except as a legal process to govern the provision of dowry and the cementing of bonds between families.

Maybe he'd just hug both the guys and whisper in their ears that he'd be seeing them someday.

From what I know of Jesus the man, I don't think he would have cast harsh judgment on this couple. I believe that there would be acceptance.

Jesus is about love, and I think he would have blessed the union of two people who love, care, and commit to each other.

And since I believe that Jesus the man was not the solemn, sad man on earth that he is often portrayed as in movies, he would have joined in the celebration and had a good time.

Jesus was gay.
He was single, never married and always had men following him around. What more proof do you need?

He'll take a basin and a bottle of expensive perfume then rinses every feet in the room, starting from the newly wed.
