Vitamin argued in a different thread that when two people have sex and one contracts hiv from another, the only one responsible for their choice to fuck sans condom is the one whose transferred the hiv, not the one who was given it. I believe it was the "Intentionally spreads HIV and blames victim in court room' one.
And as any moron should be able to tell from the title of the thread it's about the CONTEXT of which I was arguing from, which you, and many others repeatedly dismissed and ignored.
The thread lucky gave is about a California man who was intentionally spreading HIV to others while lying about his status. For this, he was given a whopping SIX MONTHS in prison, the maximum amount allowed under California law. The (presumably) heterosexual judge said she wished she could have given more time for his crime, but she is only limited by what the state legislature allows her to do.
Now any pro-gay fool should have walked into that thread like, "WTF? Six months?", and indeed that
was what the thread was originally about(aside from one poster, MouthofKaos, I think, who at least had the balls to admit he didn't actually read the article). It wasn't until Soilwork came in, and started slut-shaming the victim that somehow drew out TONS of echos about how right he was to blame the victim. Then JayQueer made some weird comparison to rape, and shit really started going downhill after that. That's when I walked in.
Honestly, I probably should've have left well enough alone, but I couldn't help it. Not all of the people in that thread were the usual suspects of self-hate. A lot of them were actually people that I had tremendous amount of respect for.
Look, these rationalizations were just preposterously unhelpful. They were all like, "Oh, well, I don't support what this guy did BUT..." followed by paragraphs of slut shaming. It literally made no fucking sense in CONTEXT of what the thread was about.
I mean, it would be like if I said this in a gay marriage discussion thread: "I support gay marriage, BUT if you think about it guys, being equal means being exactly same thing. 1=1 not 1=1.1 or 0.9. Therefore two men, or two women who get married can never possibly be equal to a heterosexual couple because they don't have the exact same body parts."
Seriously, how is this fucking helpful AT ALL???
I'm going to have to just assume half of JUB never read that article, otherwise I'm going to go batshit crazy losing respect for so many people here.
