Whatever happened to belamo Jane?

We were talking physique, not character: actually, my point is that Sands does not justice to the rebellious age and disposition of George Emerson.

And that happens to be one of my very favourite films: of course, I think I would identify more with Charlotte Bartlett    if only because of Maggie Smith being Holy Maggie Smith in that film.

If you'll excuse me I need to go be 1986 Helena Bonham Carter.

Poor poor poor Charlotte! You are such a Charlotte.:rotflmao:

Indeed, just like we are not referring to our sexual partnership in Amsterdam in the 1990s.

Between the emotional constipation and tripping over your slaves everywhere.... you still owe me on some therapy bills.

Yep, rather

But look at how she beams (in a very spinster British way, of course) at the end of the film, for the good work accomplished: despite all the havoc she wreaked throughout the story, from small change to social indiscretion, she was instrumental in coupling George and Lucy forever. I think that IS the reason why I like her character and the Maggie Smith in that movie so much.

Helena Bonham Carter :rotflmao: a good piece of work indeed   No wonder she was cast as the idiotic older Princess Margaret in that campy lampoon "The Crown".

Mediterranean people are NEVER responsible for Anglo perversions of the "therapy" sort.

And you've even got her wildly self-serving interpretations of reality down pat. I call for a remake starring Charlotte/Belamo!:king:

I hate royal stuff. But she is kind of a kick.

And I bet you haven't touched a tarot card or aligned even one measly chakra in the intervening years either. EVOLVE please!

That is the star example of those more recent set of stupid self-serving shows, ignoring the character of everything they use as a mere vintage-themed-ball background, and making fly-sparers of supposedly badass personalities.

What?
EVOLVE please!

Towards what.

Because evolving is precisely what my life is about, unwitting and unwillingly leaving people behind as a result: it is not by fault that most people merely roll downhill, and in the wrong direction on top, believing that is "to evolve".

She is just an idiot. Not even a pompous, let alone an aristocratic one.

She is about as upper-class, cool and sophisticated as Boris The Johnson or Pepé Le Pew: she is a parody of herself, that is why she fits so well in a show in which people expect to watch the parodic conception they have of the characters represented.

Takes one to know one, right?  8-)

Oh, and about the ideal guys, we forgot to mention the age: perfect one would be around 32-34, but around ten years younger or older may be acceptable as long as they are properly aged... or age properly.

I don't know what a fly-sparer is but such shows can all please be lit on fire. Not that it bothers Gen Z hipster moths at the flame of "aesthetics"

Vague much? Tu es la nouvelle vague.:clown:

You mean a group? Even the top of a group? Since when that's "me"?

You know I am more stand-alone than that, if anything, more robertbresson than that

Why do I feel a sudden urge to take a ping pong paddle to that ass? :spank::lol:

Because you are a lecherous old fart..?

Oh yikes. Dude's depressing as hell.:rotflmao: Mais pour quoi tu dis qu'il n'est pas nouvelle vague.:alien: Not urban enough?

Mayhaps you're not quite as sealed up emotional tomb as we suspected.;) Left Bank were pretty sincere if I recall, not so meta-self-conscious "flat" like many nouvelles. But of all the french films I saw back in the day, the one I liked and stayed with me was quatre cent coups. (If you do a vomit emoji I'll tell everyone your worst secret from Amsterdam.:cowboy:)
