What's Everybody's Job/Field?

I'm doing a medical science degree, eventually I will enter healthcare or research. While I'm not studying, I work in a party shop, doing balloons, selling costumes and toys. Right now I am working as a waiter in a Spanish restaurant as I am away for summer.

currently unemployed BUT will be employed soon enough. had a job interview today for some company in that works in the entertainment field and things didn't work out. applied for the njdoc to be a correctional officer since criminal justice is the field that i'm in. not into the whole police thing BUT if i had to chose one field to be a cop, i wanna do something interesting and i think working in a prison would be interesting. if i make it, i hope to work in new jersey state prison down in trenton. either way, my main goal is to be a lawyer and i plan on going to law school next year.

Medical Laboratory Technologist (I think we're known as Medical Technologists in the US).

Forgot to answer the initial question.

Medical science, I am working in 4 months. Right now, I'm taking apprenticeship (a.k.a. being an office boy) in a department in my university hospital.

I want to be a writer though.

Currently an account manager but I know I will be out of a job in a few months since my company got bought out. I really have no idea what I want to do after that either. I do some bookkeeping [accounting] for some small companies around Boston which I love as it's easy money.

Before that I was a financial analyst at a Wall St. firm which drove me up a wall.

Basic research here, currently biomedical science. My background is microbiology and cell biology, specifically parasitology, with a big chunk of genetics thrown in as well.

The project I am spending most of my time on is the preclinical evaluation and development of new antimalarial drugs at the in vitro and in vivo levels (that's test tube and animal models respectively), as well as determining pharmacokinetic parameters in rats (figuring out how much of the drug is absorbed and how long it takes to do its thing and get out of there).

Chief Flunkie/Ass Kisser for a Major Department Store chain.

I'm responsible for getting the merchandise in and out of the building through the back door properly and within budget. In addition, I'm responsible for building maintenance, business continuity, inventory management, scheduling the support staff, fixture wrangling, and anything else the Broom Lady and/or Dragon Lady desires me to do.

Translation: If the building I worked in did just $1 million more a year in sales volume, my job title would have 'manager' attached to it, I'd be making another $15K a year and have more help. As it stands, I'm underpaid, overworked and still expected to do the same crap 400 of my counterparts in other buildings do in less time with less help.

(Does anyone see a little disenchantment at this point?)
