What's missing

This didn't inspire you a little?

I was gonna post about the DOMA protests on Saturday but reading about 23 gay college students standing in the snow, freezing, with runny noses wasn't pretty.
Thanks, I had missed that one and big fat asses are always good to bump into

I'd say a good 70% of em were JUB-silly. At one point, he was making religion-baiting threads several times a day. By the time you responded to one he aready had a new one up.

Lately he has gotten better about it though, he's praised as being the JUB Civil Rights God since his most recent threads focus on relevant issues, less on blind hatred for religion.
Is that really you marls, or is Andrew possessing you?

Are you kidding me? I don't think you were posting during the several-month window where Mattie was doing 3, 4, "Those crazy Christians" threads a day. I'm serious, several a day. What's with the confusion? Everything I said was true.
i didn't doubt about the truthof it, only about the persona making the remark

Until now. You're not the first poster to ignore me until a chance for taking a shot at me arises. I'm not the only poster to feel this way in general, that some members only respond when they get to be negative.

Andrew is a perfect example. He had (few and far between) some relevant moments, but those got marginally less attention than his trolling. Before Prop 8 passed it was barely a bleep on the JUB radar, after it passed there was hysteria. I stand by my sentiment that some people are addicted to negativity like it's crack-cocaine. You've just given a picture-perfect example.

That's because people, regardless of how honest or hypocritical they are about it publicly, LOVE drama. People love conflicts and all sorts of drama...it's the truth. We can see it everywhere.

I think I can offer something here.

What's changed? Honestly?

JUB has gotten bigger.

Waaaaaaaaaaaay back when, many conversations weren't all that serious. We had fun and everybody knew everybody and most of us were supportive of each other when we needed it. We were nothing more or less than a fairly small, relatively close knit family that found each other on a brand new forum placed on a newly revamped website that didn't have much more than links to free porn sites around the web.

As LMAO grew into JUB and JUB grew into what it is today, things began to change because more and more people were finding the site while searching for porn. Some of those people stayed around because they enjoyed what they saw in the forums and decided to sign up and contribute. Diversity on JUB began to grow in a lot of good ways. Unfortunately so did the amount of truly immature posters.

Let me say, right now, that JUB is not a place I normally come to be all that mature. If you look back to Stacy's post she mentions that some people come here for escape from their day to day lives. I am one of them. I come to the forums usually looking for two things that I may not have in my "normal" life: Fun and more human contact. I don't think that's much different than what most of you are looking for.

I suppose it all comes down to how we look for those things. Though I may tend towards immaturity, I do try to still be an adult about many things. Unfortunately there are those who leave all maturity behind once they sign on to the internet.

That's not just here on JUB, that's everywhere.

In the end, you only take from your experience on JUB what you bring to it. If you bring fun then you can have fun. If you bring seriousness then you can find it. If you bring hatred or stupidity, you'll get plenty of it back.

Normal ebb and flow of an Internet forum, or "Not all ages are golden"

I agree with this statement I would add people who like to make the threads about them and ignore the topic at hand. This is quite annoying. ](*,)

Pretty much sums the JUB experience up for me. Well said, Vanti! ..|

6700...Wasted on you...like the money you spend on cold-hearted hustler in your endless search for love. And probably just as fulfilling
i couldn't tell whether they are cold-hearted, i don't have a heart myself... search for what?!?

I have respectful disagreements all the time, I can provide a laundry list of JUBers I disagree with but do so in a respectful manner.

:rotflmao: What bullshit. Hey, remember that time when I disagreed with you on a matter you suddenly developed a opinion about just for the sake of posting? Remember when you had me on your ignore list even when I took the opportunity to apologize to you through a pm? Actually, I don't understand why I was apologizing: you were the one insulting me.

Oh Marley, Marley, Marley.

JUB isn't missing anything. It is however too full of Marley's aggressively sanctimonious, hypocritical posts. Whatever, really. You are enough to put me off from jubbing.

Ugh. I'm getting late.

If some of our members are looking for or miss a tighter knit community, then why isn't the supporter forum more popular?

some poster's realizations that it is not necessary to respond to every thread ever started!!!

some threads are best left ignored.

When I learned that, my JUB time became so much more enjoyable!

JUB doesn't change...the Jubbers change. The site will always be the same, most forums will be. Every new Jubber fills a role that a previous Jubber has already moved on from. It's just a matter of knowing when it's your time to give up the role.

Without reading further, this post stood out to me as extremely accurate.

Jub is the culmination of its members. Yes, I've seen many come and go; and with that, the site has evolved and taken on the "personalities" of its most current and most active members.

I'm sure some will agree with me that it's sad to see some leave, especially ones like Danno. But as new members arrive and become active and long time members leave, what was once appealing to some seems to lose its luster.

I still find the site appealing and enjoy reading what many of the new arrivals have to say.

Having said that, I do miss very much reading what input some former Jubbers had to contribute here.

This site continues to grow and gain a larger and larger following. It's only natural that the once "tight" community will lose some of that closeness we all liked in the past.

Jub is NOT going downhill; it's just growing like my hometown has. Yes, the "smalltown" charm might be somewhat blurred now, but you can't really blame anyone. The whole reason this is happening is because more and more are 1) coming of age and 2)more are seeing a place like no other.
