I'm kinda past the whole twink phase. Not to say I don't find some of those younger guys attractive, I'm just more into guys that have a little muscle tone and meat on them; hunks and the college guys, I guess.

I guess the whole twink thing is the slender, demure, aesthetic look. I've never had the privilege of being called a twink; always been rather largely built (not overweight, just large bone structure) and hairy.

But a twink can be just as handsome or cute as a big tough guy. To me, it's more what's inside the guy that what's on the outside.
But the smaller framed guys are more attractive to me. Maybe feel threatend in some way by the bigger guys, I don't know.
I've been with both types in the past though.
I've met lot's of young guys that are slim and cute... and sometimes they are more mature than those that are older and have a bigger body. It doesn't much matter to me.... well if you are out for a one nighter then I figure it'd matter to you... but if you are out to date to meet someone to maybe become a mate with then it really shouldn't matter.
I do have a problem with really fem guys. Could be how some guys deal with twinks.... a really fem guy is tough for me to deal with. I need to work on that I guess. But that's how it is with me.

I'm more than twice your age and I've always been attracted to younger gentlemen, but gentlemen similar to those I posted in Post #17 (Brian and Jon). The new twinks in today's porn sites, those thin, baby-faced, body-shaved young men trying desperately to portray themselves as prepubescent teens, do nothing whatsoever for me. I'm 21, slim, and cute, so I've been described as a twink many times. I don't object to it, but neither do I encourage it. I think it's silly that people constantly need to categorize themselves, as if they were products that had to be placed in their right places on supermarket shelves.

Anyway, why do people find twinks attractive?

(1) For one thing, many people feel twinks (or young men) encapsulate male beauty. The biological fact is, men are at their sexual and physical peak from the ages of 18-22. Maybe this has something in part to do with the attraction a lot of men feel towards them. Oscar Wilde perpetuated this, but it's nothing new. It goes right back to the Greeks (think Socrates' obsession with Alcibiades) and through to the Renaissance (the most obvious example being Michaelangelo's "David").

I've found that twinks are mostly idealized by older men, and perhaps in a way they feel it's a way of regaining their youth through sleeping with younger men, whom they see as being full of vitality.

(2) Psychologists might take a different approach. There is a school of thought that says that some gay men are often attracted to younger men because it's the closest they can get to sleeping with a woman. They might not be wrong; twinks resemble women in a number of ways because they are slim and smooth. They are the most feminine-looking men (to use a crude phrase) you will find.

These days, I have no idea either. I always understood twinks to have a youthful appearance (late teens, early 20s). It really had nothing to do with height or weight or anything.
