The best position to put him in? "Comfortable". People aren't Lego pieces. We're all different, with different shapes and sizes and likes and dislikes. Some might prefer being on top so they get some measure of control. Some would enjoy it more on their back, others doggy style, and others in a spooning position. The best position is whatever he wants to try. If he doesn't know, you suggest one, and slowly, carefully, give it a try. If he isn't enjoying it, you stop, and try another one.

I prefer to be in the missionary position when I'm first being penetrated. Then once I've acclimated to his cock, any position that is enjoyable for the both of us will do.

The top needs to loosen up my hole before penetrating me also. That involves some rimming and/or finger fucking. Gradually working himself up to about three fingers should loosen me up nicely.
