What's the deal with TGP sites and blogs and stumbling onto questionably legal porn?

I'm a little confused about the rules of the internet in regards to pornography. So, like everyone here, I look at porn. I look at TGP posts and gay porn blogs. Every once in a while I stumble upon something that does not have the 18 USC thing pasted at the bottom of the page. It doesn't LOOK illegal, they are pictures from sites I've seen before, but the individual site or blog itself won't have the 18 USC thing posted.

There is a ton of fucked up shit out there and I don't want to look at anything illegal or involving minors. I look at twink porn, and it's strange how far out some of these sites can get, then I end up on these sites that are basically fan pages/picture posts of guys, with no official policy posted. Is there any risk in this? How do people manage what they click on without knowing what might be in the link?

Yes there is risk in it. As it stands now, the way US sex laws are written, it is mostly up to DA’s what they want to pursue. One does not even have to look at illegal porn to be arrested for it. Having (knowing or not) links, pictures, etc. is illegal.

Yeah, that's what I've heard. It's just really strange because if you look at free porn, you're bound to click on something that might be sketchy. Whenever this happens, I figure it's best to close it, of course, but I still wonder why it fucking happens, like why that is even being linked to from a mainstream online/free gay porn server in the first place...

One of the many reasons why I stay away from free porn

I read a paper awhile back saying that odds are most computers have CP on it whether or not the owner knows. It hides itself so only those really good with computers can find it. And with the new known programs anyone with wireless internet is more likely to have illegal things on their computers.

As for your question: It's an easy way to get customers. Keep in mind the sites have to move a lot.

I ran into an issue with that recently too. It's so fucking skeezy. There were well over two million views too...people really disturb me sometimes.

But why are they trying to get customers with sketchy porn if it's not something I would pay for, let alone want to look at? I'm not sure what you mean by 'get customers'.

Sketchy shit.

Why do you go to gay TGPs, click on a gay picture, and hetero porn opens up instead?

Never understood myself why they do that, but it's probably the same reason.

I may be misunderstanding your post, but here I go.

By get customers I mean the illegal sites. There are different kinds of “sex offenders”, in this case pedophiles.

There are those that are “Preferential”, where they go after the type they especially like. Then there are those that are “Situational” where they set themselves up to get any type.

From there you have different reasons for the interest in the first place. Some, the true pedophiles, it is nothing more than their attraction. For others it’s more “Situational” caused by loneliness, emotional attachment, needs more to get excited, etc.

In this sense it is just an easy way to get customers. The illegal sites partners with a legal site using their own legal site. Then like search engines, data is collected on what users look at. If you tend to look at a lot of porn you become “safe” and links will show themselves. Of course true pedophiles find it the same way, but for “situational” pedophiles it’s the easiest way.

Since the sites tend to move around a lot it is fairly safe for the illegal sites. For the “situationals” it lets them find what they want, because they usually look at a lot of porn. Think of it as a commercial. Most people are not going to buy their product, but they advertise it to those that may.

There are other reasons as well, but the above covers the biggest reason why.

I’m tired so I hope you get what I mean.

What about even the "family-friendly" sites such as YouTube, which sometimes shows minors working out and flexing their muscles (with shirts fully off), etc.? Until I learn otherwise, I find myself wondering whether even stuff like that is questionable...or worse.

That's a virus/trojan. You shouldn't get it if you use antivirus software.

I've noticed that a lot of the "top favorites" on xTube feature some content that makes you wonder "Hmm, if this guy REALLY 18?"

Some people are on there complaining "I really AM 18. Stop flagging my videos!" but it's always safe to assume they're lying and to just completely avoid their videos. . .or since xTube is awful now, the site entirely.

That stuff is legal. Current US law basically states it has to be sexual in nature. “Minors working out and flexing their muscles (with shirts fully off), etc.” should be considered legal. I used “should” for a reason, I will get to that in a second. In fact they could be fully nude and it would still be legal. Now if someone else was touching their genitals it would become CP. If they kept touching themselves it would be CP. If they were just doing everyday living scenarios it is legal.

The one thing almost every country in the world (except Muslim and highly other religious countries) have in common is naturalist laws. Anyone can be a naturalist including children. On top of that “art” is also legal. Putting this all together it is why some of Robert Mapplethorpe’s works are illegal, but Sally Mann’s is not. Mapplethorpe’s work was seen more as sexual than art. Mann’s work is seen as naturalist art. Both artists took pictures of under aged persons.

Now getting back to “should”. If you have paid attention to my rants on the subject you will find I complain a lot about DA’s. As I have said many times before DA’s have the option of what they want to take to court. If someone is taken to court for CP (whether they knew they had it or not) but they were also into a naturalist lifestyle and/or nude art with children etcetera it will more than likely be used against them. Also if only one illegal piece is found (whether they knew they had it or not) but the person arrested had a “large” collection of legal porn, it would also more than likely be used against them.

The above is because most laypeople and those with “hard biases” don’t know, understand, or care about full facts on sexuality. They take what helps their biases and run with it. Their thinking is usually “if it’s nude, it’s sexual” or “if they have a lot of porn they must be a fiend or into everything, including illegal stuff.

In defense of DA’s this is where “situational” marketing came into play as I wrote in post 11. My personal issue with this is they almost never take into account that this is not 100% how it will always play out. Their spin is “they have A and B so it must equal C” when some of the time it is “D”. Too many people are okay with sending innocent people to prison as long as it doesn’t affect them. US sex laws need to be reworked. The People are too complacent and our politicians are too dirty taking bribes (lobbying money) or trying to keep their jobs to do the right thing.

That's a virus/trojan. You shouldn't get it if you use antivirus software.

Antivirus software is a game of keep up. The companies will not know what to protect their customers from. One has to know about the virus and what it does/how it works, etc. For the “better” viruses it can take months for an antivirus software company to update their programs to deal with them. By then some viruses can evolve themselves so they are not affected. Also newer viruses can take their place or the virus itself can be programmed not to be removed, but tell you it has been.

Also keep in mind antivirus software removes the viruses and other things seen as bad. Illegal pictures etc. may or may not be seen as something that needs to be removed, so even if you do remove the virus the illegal stuff could still be there. Unless you are good with computers, you take a huge risk taking your computer to someone to get that stuffed removed.

thanks guy's you've been very helpful. for the record i don't think there is anything wrong with twink porn. i think if the legal viewing age WAS under 18, people would probably still look at it. 18 is just this arbitrary social construction of legality. obviously part of the twink aesthetic is youth. but regardless, i don't want to see illegal shit or have it on my computer. not to mention there is a huge difference between twinky stuff with 18 year olds that look a little younger and the really out there stuff that looks super young. so thynight, you've done a good job explaining how that stuff comes up. it's interesting how the internet is just going to keep evolving and become more and more uncontrollable... so we need to remember to be careful, i suppose.
