What's The Scariest Movie You Ever Saw?

Horror is my favorite genre, so I've kind of become immune to the scariness of most horror films, but a few have managed to scare me.

Scream scared me soooo badly when I was younger. I caught it on TV late one night when I was a kid & that opening scene with Drew Barrymore scared me so bad I didn't sleep. The opening scene still makes me nervous when I watch it. :P

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) scared me really bad too. Even now when I see Leatherface I freak the hell out & don't know what to do with myself. It's bad.

I watched The Poughkeepsie Tapes a couple of weeks ago thinking it was just going to be another slasher film... it wasn't. At all. This guy was recording himself locking people in his basement & chopping them into pieces. I was shaking by the time it was over & I was afraid to leave my room to pee. xD

Also, it's not a movie, but there's an internet series called Marble Hornets. Almost every entry that comes out manages to get me, especially the ones with Slenderman in them.
yay first post!

For everyone who found The Strangers scary, please check out the original French movie Ils (Them) which is more based on the true events than the remake.

Funny Games was very disturbing as is 'Inside' starring Beatrice Dalle and the chilling Frontier(s).

The Exorcist & The Texas Chainsaw Massacre both terrified me when I was very young as did Salem's Lot.

I forgot to say, the only film I wish I had never watched is A Serbian Film. Stayed with me for far too long and made me question the minds that could come up with something so disgustingly shocking.

The Haunting (1963)

no monsters , no blood , no gore

by fuck its scary though

Texas CHainsaw Massacre always makes me cringe.

Old, old school : "Rosemary's baby"

Still "Old School: "The Exorcist" (probably the scariest movie ever made) plus:
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,,,, (it would have rated higher, but there is NO script ! )

Medium old school: "Halloween", "Valentine's Day" (the original)

Relatively newer: "The Tape" is pretty good, "Jacob's Ladder" is more a mind fuck than scary.... (which is not to say you shouldn't watch it...)

Newer still: "Drag me to Hell" will scare the shit out of you.

The Mothman prophecies which is sad since it's like a 12. Really eerie and atmospheric. I had to turn the light on a text my friend.

My favorite horror movie is The Haunting (1963), mentioned above, is the best sleepover late night movie. Julie Harris really shows off her acting skills. Clair bloom plays such a great character, always thinking what a bitch she is, but you can't blame her for telling the truth. Russ Tamblyn is adorable as always. This is just a fun ride. movies that truly scared me are Terror at the Opera (1987) Dario Argento edge of your seat classic and Dead Snow (2009) a Norwegian Nazi Zombie movie, one of the best zombie movies I've seen in awhile.

Well, I love horrors but "scared" isn't quite the word of what I get from my favourites ones but watching Haze by Shinya Tsukamoto was for me an horrible experience I don't ever want to be through again any time sooner. Awesome (and terrible to watch) film if you're claustrophobic.

OMG, that movie freaked me the fuck out too! Saw it when I was like 15. I still can't watch it to this day and I love horror movies.
