Hell, I'll hijack this thread the entertainment forum......... ;)

What's the first film you saw that really fucked you up ?

Made you lose sleep, made you afraid of your own shadow, etc ?

For me, it's a tie between "The Exorcist" and "Halloween".

...And maybe the original "The Omen".

How about you ?

An old flick called The Burning. I wasn't supposed to watch it but I did. I was 8 and it didn't end well.

One I'd recommend to people now that I'm older, though, is the late 90s space-fest Event Horizon. Yeah, there is a touch of sci-fi in it, but it's old-school horror at the end of the day and very good indeed.

For me, it was the first 'Resident Evil' movie. I think it came out back in ~2002(?), I'm not sure, but I think I was around 12 years old at the time.

My parents were out for the night, and my older brother had been trusted to baby sit me and my other brothers. He decided it would be hilarious to put on a scary movie and force us all to watch it in the dark. He added to the trauma of the experience by occasionally making strange noises, and would suddenly yell and grab me in the 'eerie' quiet moments of the film.

One scene haunted me for weeks after. It was an eerie 'suspense' moment, and you would hear a bone cracking sound, then a dragging sound...then another bone crack, and another drag. That repeated a few times, then it cut to a zombie slowly walking on a snapped ankle dragging a hatchet behind it along the floor (that's how I remember it anyway, I was very young so that description could be quite off).

That image was burned into my mind every night for the next few weeks...damn older brothers

When I was very young, I watch a movie on the late late show entitled: The Thing That Couldn't Die (1958 )

It gave me nightmares. I wrote a term paper about my experience in College Comp class.

About that same time I saw another movie called The Astounding She Monster (1957)

That also gave me nightmares. (I had older brothers and a sister who sat up late watching horror movies so that's why I saw them). Of course when you see these films now they're silly.

As an adult movies like The Exorcist, 28 Days Later, A Nightmare on Elm Street (the first one), Rosemary's Baby and others scared me. I can think of a lot more.

As for the most fucked up film... 'A Serbian Film' Don't watch it.

OMG, that's a horrible show. Some things you wish you hadn't seen and that's one of them. I wish I hadn't see it.

There was an old movie called "Wait Until Dark", about three killers who terrorize a blind woman, played by Audrey Hepburn. There is one scene in the film where the killer jumps out of nowhere with a knife that scared the shit out of me.

I'm not one for scary movies...the most scary one that I have seen would probably be Silence Of The Lambs..

I mean...you can't get much sicker than that... I would hope.

My favorite fun ones are silly :) :

Murder By Death

Rocky Horror Picture Show

The original Thai version of Shutter. There was one scene that lasted for at least 10 minutes during which there was no point that I wasn't scared. Awesome movie. The American remake one the other hand, while almost a shot for shot remake, was somehow complete trash.

The original Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street have stuck with me for most of my life as well. To this day I can't really even deal with seeing Freddy or Michael, let alone watching their movies.

I generally love horror movies though and I'll watch pretty much anything that doesn't involve those two guys up there.

Beat me to it!! ..| I was only in my teens when I saw that movie and I actually screamed like a girl when that scene happened. Definitely one of my scariest movie moments.

There were also several scenes in Jaws that scared the crap out of me the first time I saw the movie.

Descent and Rec (spanish one)

Though not a horror film as such, Peter Watkins' documentary "The War Game" had me come out white and shaking.

A film - again not a horror film, which quite grossed me out, was John Waters' "Female Trouble" with Divine. I was quite young when I saw it; if I saw it today I'd probably be merely entertained.

I'm kinda fuzzy about these movie, with good reason: I never want to keep scary crap like this, inside my head! I watched these movies because either: 1. friends drugged me off with them, to see 'em, or 2. I was a naive dumbass! Uhm,.. very probably BOTH!

POLTERGEIST #1!

There's a scene where the DAD(?)- or one of the good guys, opens a large door, belonging to.. I think,. a CLOSET,..
and this HUUUUUUGE, UNEXPECTED!! M*TH*RF*CK*NG! DEMON HEAD SHOOTS OUT at everybody!
Let's hope everyone in the movie wore DEPENDS!

Well,..
it so happens that at the time, I was still living at home, in the.. ATTIC!!
And right next to my bed, was a.. GIANT CLOSET- THE SPITTING IMAGE OF THE ONE IN THE MOVIE!!!

I lived in the states,. and for the next 4 days, the light coming out of my bedroom window at night, probably made a dandy lighthouse for ships in the Indian Ocean!

I also (unfortunately) remember another unexpected-shocker movie. Don't know the name or hardly anything about it, except,.. the VILLAIN / MONSTER, or whatever the Hell it was. It was a guy, body dressed kinda like Freddy Kreuger- minus the metal claws. It's head, however,.. was this HORRIFIC, GIGANTIC, TWISTED, JACK O' LARNTERN looking-thing!
Again- COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED!!- F(*S*)CK!!!

It was 10pm, and I was at some friends's house, and THIS is the movie that they all JUST HAD TO WATCH!:spank: I kept them all up till 6 am- any way I could, until we all passed out from exhaustion! bastards!

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

And on a side note, the most scariest game I've ever played was Fatal Frame for the xbox. That game literally gave me nightmares.
