He's the baby penguin who took a wrong turn at Antarctica and came ashore in New Zealand. I can understand not being able to transport him back. The cost would be illogical. However, I can't understand how anyone could expect him to swim back by himself when he doesn't even know where he should be.

Hasn't there been even a single zoo offering to take him?

Maybe he's on holiday, he should be allowed to go where he wants.
Besides i don't see why they can't ship him back, wouldn't cost that much.

Does any other country have mcvities penguin bars?

I hope they'll come to some decision. I don't want the little guy to get sick again or worse!

It winter down there. Not many ships sailing to Antarctica. To commission a ship now would cost a fortune. Ships will start sailing again in Spring, but that is months away.

I saw the news over the weekend that he had been taken to a zoo.

He'll stay while they treat him. He's grown weak they said. They still haven't figured out what they'll do with him once he's healthy.

Probably all that sand he gobbled up when he first landed. The report I read said that he thought it was snow and had himself quite a 'drink'.

I think they will keep him in a zoo. You can't take him back and dump him just anywhere. The other penguins wouldn't play with him if they saw him riding on a ship with humans. Plus he might make friends with the other zoo penguins before he is healthy enough to go home.
