  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What's up with the Halloween avatars???

Oh, that's annoying. I had my own Halloween avatar planned.

^ pfft. Speak for yourself. I radiate my own light.
Yes. You are positively glowing.

I love it :D

It makes JUB fun

Good Job guys!!

Oh and now we know who does and doesn't have a sense of humor.

It is fun, but it reminds me of a Halloween commercial I've been seeing. The one with the two ornate nutcrackers who are going to be dressing up as nutcrackers for Halloween.

Its nice as is, but could we next year get some variety if possible? If not, that's ok.

LOL! It scared me when I scrolled down and saw it. I was like what the hell...but I think its cool. Props to JUB!

The scary part is they didn't get rid of whitney.(*8*)

Happy Halloween!!!(!)

Oh my ! Look at my avatar ! LUV it !

Clearly, I'm out of my gourd.

(Thanks ! I'll be here all week ! Try the espresso martinis w/ orange peel !)

THey should do this more often. Too bad the signatures couldn't be also changed.

That would truly make us all equal.

Happy Halloween!!!

Ban all humorless jubbers....(!)

hehe - Ban me too then. ;)

I earlier started a thread in the Mod Forum (before I went anywhere else). I thought initially this was just done to the Mod team, now (obviously) I have discovered it's everyone!

Meh - it's been Nov.1st for over ten hours here so it's all a bit redundant. Apart from that, most people here don't really bother with Halloween that much (apart from the odd fancy dress party). I think the majority of Australians regard it as the retail trade trying to import a bit more American commercialism.

i dont like it i can't tell whose posting by their avatars anymore D:

I thought I was hacked at first too

This is why I like JUB.

Happy Halloween!

Is it weird if I didn't notice?

I didn't either. I thought the evil pumpkin was the persons actual avatar. I didn't click that it was on all of them. #-o

Yeah the shops are trying to push halloween on to us aren't they. I don't see it taking off here. But the retail sector are sure going to try. Trick or Treat, fuck that, piss off kid. :p

You don't understand. "Trick or treat" isn't just a catchphrase. They're giving you a real choice. Give them a treat...or they'll play a trick on you.

Now, the young kids won't play a trick, and the older kids don't bother asking for treats, so it's kind of moot in America. But maybe someone down there will keep the Grand Old Traditions!

Seriously, Halloween as practiced in America is actually related to some ancient Celtic practices. But trying to impose it where it's not an organic part of the culture is just a cynical marketing thing.

It would have been more fun if the avatars had been somewhat more personalized, I suppose, but I know the mods and admins have a lot on their hands. All in all, it's a bit of harmless fun, and it's only for a day. If people are that upset by it, then as far as I'm concerned, they're more than welcome to find a forum that caters more to their temperament.

I think it would have been a better trick if he would have use an Easter Bunny avatar.

That's more to my humor.
