What's Wrong With Canada ?

I just wish we would be more virtuous...

imagine that
how the world would be a better place.

it is not hard to be virtuous. help some who needs helps..............help the elderly cross the street. Just be nice and give a smile .

I am fine with his silence. He doesn't have to say a word. His silence doesn't affect/effect/phase me at all.

He's silent now, but as soon as he became prime minister, he wanted to make us second-hand citizens again by taking away same-sex marriage. As far as he was concerned, 'civil union' was good enough for us. Same, but not equal.

He doesn't like us, but he knows better than to fuck with us. The rest of Canada won't stand for it.

What is wrong with Canada , honestly i found it to be one of Gods Green , though cold , Gifts .

Most of the Canadians i met were amazing . their manners , like the English without the smugness and sarcasm , RP , being the exception to the rule.........he is just..............:D an Honour Jock .

The only cities in Canada I will regret not seeing soon again are Vancouver and Montreal.... everything else (including the cesspool of Toronto) is a carbon copy of the US. I have been there three times before in my teens.

Toronto is fine if you stay downtown. Midtown (Lawrence and up) and east/west, stay away from. ;)

How can I be angry with Canada for throwing Bieber at us after being reminded of that?

but he's a creep.

and since you are a gay man why??? would you defend the bastard.

The ever present denial ^^. Of course Canadians and Americans share different passports, but other than that, pretty much everything is the same, culturally speaking. Same music, same foods, same fashion, same, well, you get the idea. Even the accent and overall English lexicon is the same.

That's empirically not true. Not even the accent, where linguistic maps show just how sharp the border is in people's patterns of speech. Not the values and the priorities. Not the feel of everyday life. It's even readily evident in two closely-matched cities where you'd expect similarities, like, say, Vancouver and Seattle. I found that Vancouver and Stockholm actually had more in common in terms of the "feel" of the city and the feel of everyday life. Which is doubly odd given the history of Nordic immigration to Seattle.

I've only recently visited the States for the first time and while I had a lovely time, I assure you it was very foreign. From the attitudes of the border guards to the attitudes about school shootings to what people eat for breakfast and when to the style of someone's haircut, it was al very obvious to me that I wasn't at home.

The ever present denial ^^.

You are the one in denial. The American influence is world-wide. Does that make the world 'American'? Hardly. We have our own music. We have our own cultures. We have our own foods. We have our own fashions. We have... well, you get the idea. As for the accents, you can't even say 'eh?' correctly, and you insist that we say 'oot and aboot'. You tell us we're the same in one instance and that we're so different in the next. Your horse is getting pretty high, my friend.

At least we have a national anthem that isn't all about war and an anthem that all Canadians can sing.

Canadians are denied the freedom of speech, because someone might be offended.

^ That is not true. We simply make 'hate speech' illegal to protect us from having our rights trampled by people who take advantage of it. Why should Phelps have more rights than you? What makes his rights more important than yours?

Fred Phelps does not have more rights than I do....nor should he have less. He should have every right in the world to say stupid crap, and I have the right to ignore him.
If you support limiting others right to speech, you have no right to expect those rights for yourself.

Stifling speech is the first step in stifling freedom.

I am free to get married. Are you? I am a first-class citizen. Are you? I am free from persecution. Are you?

It seems that I have more rights and freedoms than you. I am equal to all other Canadians under the law. That is why we are not like Americans.

EDIT: By the way, we don't stifle speech. The haters can still think and say whatever the hell they want. They can end up in jail for saying it, though. There is a difference.

The best things to come out of Canada are Tamia, Alanis Morissette , Deborah Cox, Sarah McLachlan & Celine Dion...I will play their music FOREVER....

Celine's been having vocal problems lately...Singing 5 to 6 nights a week back to back is HARD on any voice and I think she was crazy for signing another Multi-year Vegas deal considering she's already FILTHY rich...I think growing up poor has caused her to think more about $$$$ than protecting her God given Instrument...

I can get married.
In America we don't have designated classes, this is the first I've heard that Canada did.
I am free of persecution, why would you think Americans are persecuted.

You do not have more rights than I or any American..............We have the freedom of speech, you do not.
Canada exists at the convenience of America, our deserters, draft dodgers and other such cowards need somewhere to run..........and feel at home among their brethren.

You may the equal of all other Canadians........but that aint saying much......you're not the equal of any American.

There are alot more Canadians that emigrate to America than the other way around....why do you think that is?

^ You haven't read a single word I've written or you wouldn't have written what you just wrote.

I'm done. Have a nice day.
