  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What's wrong with this scene?

...this is one of those typical crappy 80s movies.

I can't even think of a good 80s Move besides the Back to The Future series or anything that John Hughes directed...

Yeah I think the naked guy is a bit out of place...

Amadeus, The King of Comedy, Terminator, Die Hard, Dead Poets Society, E.T. , Aliens, and a thousand more.

The Terminator Series has always been crap.

Die Hard is too.

Dead Poets Society was pretty good, but I felt it could have been better.

Aliens was another crap action/sci-fi series.

E.T. is pretty good, but I don't like it as much as I did as a child. I don't think the film as aged well, but I think its a classic. :)

My faves from the 80s~

A Handful of Dust,
Betrayal,
A Room with a View,
The French Lieutenant's Woman

I'll tell ya what's wrong with it, it sucks, you could never do those things to a chevy and still have it run and isn't that Ira from "Mad About You?

I think it's the expressway shot, too. It looks like the negative was reversed.

They drove through water, but at 4:53, the windshield is covered in dust. You can see where the wipers had gone through it, even though you never see the wipers moving at all. But at 6:25 and 6:51, the dust and wiper streaks are completely gone and the windshield looks like it's been washed and polished clean.

I always say that the 1980s actually started in 1983 (and ended in 1995), but according to common dating Blade Runner and Victor or Victoria (1982) are 1980s movies.
Aside from that... bashing all cinema of the 1980s and saving only the Back To The Future series or "anything that John Hughes directed".?! priceless, classic!! :rotflmao:

Oh my. You just could not be more wrong.

T2 and Aliens (Alien 2, if you like) are quite possibly the very pinnacle of film-making, sci-fi or otherwise. And Die Hard and its successors were simply the spectacular definition of popcorn movies.

Well, if the car chase from "Bullitt" is here, we need this one too, the funniest I have seen so far:

and of course this one from "Ronin", really cool, and featuring great cars :)

This is supposed to be L.A. but on the freeway the vehicles driving "correctly" were driving on the left, while they were driving on the right into oncoming traffic.

All the cars are American!

Well, except for a Volkswagon beetle about 6:00.
