  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What's wrong with this scene?

Oh my. You just could not be more wrong.

T2 and Aliens (Alien 2, if you like) are quite possibly the very pinnacle of film-making, sci-fi or otherwise. And Die Hard and its successors were simply the spectacular definition of popcorn movies.

I prefer Alien to that overrated crap of a movie, T2. You want good scif-fi?

Go re-watch the original Star Wars trilogy or The Fifth Element. :)

The Terminator Series has always been crap.

Die Hard is too.

Dead Poets Society was pretty good, but I felt it could have been better.

Aliens was another crap action/sci-fi series.

E.T. is pretty good, but I don't like it as much as I did as a child. I don't think the film as aged well, but I think its a classic. :)

I'm starting a petition to have you FIRED from HUMANITY.
You're obviously insane. :p

Why are you all being so hard on him? he's still just a poor fetus... wait until his brain is fully developed to judge him.

*falls out of chair*

Its a cult classic and one of the only movies where Chris Tucker is funny.

Its a comedy/sci-fi and doesn't take itself so serious like those mundane Terminator movies do. It more of less makes fun of the ridiculousness of the entire sci-fi genre. It is really overlooked I think. Its not a movie you should take your brain to, but its still a lot of fun to watch. I found myself crying laughing so hard at some of the jokes.

But those 80s overproduced sci-fi movies, like Terminator & Aliens, are worthless Hollywood garbage.

Bleh...

This is true. Chris Tucker is hysterical in it.

I poop on your face.

I like the Fifth Element but... lol. I wouldn't put it in the same sentence as Star Wars at all. Also I probably couldn't name a better sci fi/horror movie than Aliens if I really tried. The movie still stands the test of time when it comes to that genre.

All of this is Bible.^

Maybe Alien? One thing about which Aliens set a standard, and which is indeed a true timeless classic is Horner's soundtrack.

Oh my GAWD, you have got to be fucking joking! T2 is my favourite film of all time. The action, the adventure, the vision, the deft doff of the cap to comedy, and, above all, the insight into the human condition - it's SUPERB. Nothing against Star Wars, and I loved the 5th Element, but T2 and Aliens are 2 of my Top 3 in Sci Fi, and also both in my Top 3 of films in general.

It would be like me telling you "Cobain, schmobain, the true voice of a generation is Daft Punk."

I'm hurt, White Stripe, hurt! Deeply! And while I'm at it, shame on you.

Bah, the aesthetical sensibility has been going down the drain ever since the bourgeoisie and Anglo prejudices definitely got hold of power and moral and intellectual authority in the Western world sometime around the early XIXth century: that brat is just one of the latest dregs in the batch and you are just being given your own medicine .

^Don't be cranky, Bel.

He's a nice kid. Just misguided, is all.

Any fans here of The French Connection's car chase?

Supposedly one of the greatest chases in movie history...

I beg to differ. The chase scenes in Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 2000 are the greatest (especially in shear number of PCs in the pile-up! ).

Only wrong thing is that briefs ass jumping in the water desserved more than an hour interludium. That interludium was actually too short.
