So today I got thinking about addiction. It's easy to think, with a word like "addiction", of a load of really serious and negative scenarios. Drugs, usually pretty negative? Gambling, that can't be a positive thing if taken too far can it?
I consider myself to have no addictions. I don't drink in excess, I don't take drugs. I don't gamble and I don't eat in excess. I don't smoke and I don't look at porn all day (well not all day!).
But then maybe I do have some addictions. Lets think. I use my computer every day without fail. I've sometimes played online games more than I know I really should. I used to play the piano up to 5 hours a day in the name of practice, development and progress. I have a number of hugs and kisses every day and consider myself "in need" of them. I wash my hair every morning and brush my teeth twice daily without fail.
Which made me think, does everyone have an addiction of some sort? Are all addictions bad? If they're not, what makes a bad addiction? It is actually unhealthy, uncommon or even impossible to not be addicted to something?
