What's your favorite scary movie?

there was something about i know what you did last summer--it kind of reminded me of the harbour town i grew up in and had a nice feel to it, plus i was in love with ryan phillippe at the time

and scary movie i loved for the black girl, she was awesome and inspired my dialect for a while

Well

- I know what you did last summer (1st scary movie for me)

- Cube (is it scary ?)
- Amytiville
- Final Destination series
- Resident Evil series
- Urban Legend
- I Still Know what You did last summer
- The craft

I LOVE "The Craft", it's been forever since I saw it.

Saw it when I when it came out when I was in high school. I can't believe it'll be 15 years old this year. WOW.

I remember seeing "I Know What You Did Last Summer" in the fall of 1997, first slasher I went to see in theaters. LOL

the craft was HUGE for me !!!
I was really young and it really scared the hell outta me.

I should problly see it again just to see how it makes me feel MOUAHAHA:D:D:D

How old were you at the time you first saw it? I was 17. lol

The part when Sara's attacked by the head bitch and is surrounded by the bugs and snakes gives me the creeps. lol

Yeah I was thinkin bout the exact same scene !!! MOUAHAHAHAH

well I think I was bout 10- 12. not sure tho, it's been soooooooooo long

If I actually think about really scary movies, I would say films like One Hour Photo are more freaky to me. Slasher horror films amuse me more.

The Craft was really good! I remember not being able to sleep one night, awake at about 3:00 in the morning and flipping through the channels. That movie happened to be on, and I really enjoyed it.

I also liked The Sixth Sense, The Skeleton Key, The Others, Drag Me to Hell (was also laugh-worthy), The Haunting...I know there are others, but I can't think of them right now. I looooove horror movies.

The Shining.

I love horror movies. Slashers are my favorites. Name your favorites if you're a fan. :D

Halloween (series)
Friday The 13th (series)
Nightmare on elm street (series)
Scream (series)
I know what you did last summer
Chucky movies
Rosemary's Baby
The Excorcist
Blair Witch Project
House Of wax
Urban Legend

I have a whole lot. LOL. I grew up being allowed to watch scary movies from a young age. :P

Where is the horror in any of that? It is all just blood and guts and gore (most often cheesily done).

Alien
Halloween (the first movie only)
Night of the Living Dead
Jesus Camp

poltergeist
the exorcist
the devil's backbone
cronos
the shining
fright night
rosemary's baby

that's a pretty good list. Devil's Backbone is beautifully filmed as well as scary.

The Orphanage is creepy as hell too.

For scary, I'd recommend:
(5 french films)

High Tension
Martyrs
Frontiers
Inside
Them

Each one is actually horrific...

The skeleton Key & The haunting are pretty good too

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - original

The Craft

Halloween (1-4) - original

Scream

I Know What You Did Last Summer (oh Sarah Michelle!)

For franchises, I like Friday the 13th, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Scream.

As far as other individual films go, The Descent, High Tension, The Strangers, and American Psycho were pretty scary.

I still get nervous around doors and windows because of The Strangers.

None of my boyfriends have ever liked horror movies though. :(

Eh, just going with the genre they are listed in which is horror.

I like the cheesy kind of horror movies, not for scares obviously, but for the laughs.

I do like classy made horror/slasher films though. "Psycho" and "Halloween" being my 2 favorites.

Slasher films are not horror, they are just blood & guts gore shows. These days there is no horror.
