What's your favourite cologne?

Hard to choose but so far my favourite has always been Acqua Di Parma Cologna!

I agree, hard to choose nowadays with all the varieties.

A long time ago I bought some Cool Water by Davidoff and loved it. Still use it every day before work. I still gets lots of compliments on it too.

 just kidding, I don't use cologne.

For me it is this...it was used by my grandmother...no longer made and about $100 per bottle when I can find it.

That's the joke about 4711 - always smells like grandma ;)

I have loads.

Currently, my favourites are:

My cologne has a kind of interesting story about how I ran into it. Back when I worked for Walmart the first go around (2002-03), our store location had a small group called the Sunshine Committee - basically, to help fellow employees in need (if somebody's spouse/relative died, or somebody's house burned down, etc., SC would help them out a little bit financially with what it could). SC would often hold fundraisers from time to time (you could wear blue jeans or khaki shorts to work on Friday for a $1 donation, bake sales, etc.).

One fundraiser was one Saturday night, after the store had closed for the night at 11pm (we were one of the old-fashioned WM department stores that you don't see anymore because WM converted them all to Supercenters), the entire evening and overnight shift had gather up at the Customer Service desk. Turns out the Heath & Beauty department had done a complete overhaul of its cologne/perfume section, and they had gathered up all of the old tester bottles of cologne and perfume, and they sold the used tester bottles for between $1 to $5 apiece, depending on the bottle of cologne, how full it was, what was the original price of the regular bottles (some of these were tester bottles of very expensive cologne/perfume at the time).

I personally bought 3 bottles. 2 of the bottles I liked well enough, but they weren't anything to write home over.

But then, the 3rd bottle was an off-brand cologne called Mascolino - it's a knock-off of Giorgio Armani's Acqua Di Gio...

I tracked it down several years later on Amazon - $8.10, plus $6.95 shipping per bottle. And worth every penny!

Top Notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin Mid Notes: Lavender, Myrrh, Clove, Nutmeg, Coriander Base Notes: Vanilla, Amber, Incense, Vetiver

I can't say enough good things about this. This is the only cologne I'll ever own. I even get compliments from ladies at my store who ask me what I have on. I always carry my bottle with me to work and spray it on before I clock in. My boss was near me once, and joked with me that I smell like a French whore. I shot right back to him and another coworker beside him, "You all couldn't afford me!" :rotflmao:

Paris Hilton- For him.

I never liked her and never take her seriously, but her fragrance changed me.
Now I know what she's good at?... Picking at men's cologne 8-)

For years, I wore Davidoff's Cool Water. But only when I went out socially. For work, (and for the kids with allergies) I didn't.
Then, when I was in Macy's one day, I was sniffing a tester of an old timer I used to buy for my dad, Aramis. I didn't like it for myself, when I was a kid, but now it smelled so good to me!
I had to buy a bottle!
So, I still wear Cool Water, but I also love the smell of Aramis too!

I like Escape by Calvin Klein, Lagerfeld and Grey Flannel. But, believe it or not, recently I just smelled Old Spice on a younger guy and it smelled AWESOME!!! I ran out and bought a bottle. I felt like I was 10 years old again buying it for my Dad's birthday. It kinda felt nice.

I love colognes and currently have over 60 bottles. Smelling good makes me feel good.

Burberry Brit, though it's expensive enough that it's only a special occasions cologne.

my everyday cologne is Calvin Klein Eternity.

And the one I replace immediately when it runs out, and is my everyday go-to, is this one:

Co-incidentally, it is also the first one I bought when I started wearing colognes.

I haven't done Men's Fragrances for years.

However, the Men's Fragrance Lady at work is threatening me with Polo Red (something quite new) and I'm afraid when I walk past her sometime this week I'm getting sprayed.

(Years ago, back in the stone age when I did fragrances, Royal Copenhagen was my favorite, then Addidas had one that I got lots of compliments on. This was before I lived in the UP, where wearing anything besides OFF!--preferably the Deep Woods Extreme kind that's over 50% DEET...will get you eaten alive by mosquitoes.)

Also remember fellas, the proper way to wear cologne is to squirt it once in the air and walk into it, you can also dab it behind each ear too.

Is this right? I thought that was one of those silly urban legends.

I do a squirt onto my neck (directly above the carotid sinus, as any fool knows :D) and then onto one wrist on the pulse-point and rub it against the other wrist. So it's noticeable, but not overpowering.

One of the guys in my office is drenched in the stuff, though - usually Acqua di Gio, but it stinks on him and there's far too much of it on him.

L'eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake works everywhere for me. In summer, winter, daytime, evening, for dinners, for clubbing...

I also wear Euphoria by Calvin Klein (apparently frowned upon by those in the know, but what do I care, I like it), Kenzo pour homme boisée (for cold weather), and Pure by Jil Sander (for hot weather).

Body Shop used to have one called "Apple Blossom" that I really liked, but they always change their products so quickly... I should have stacked up on it...

Also remember fellas, the proper way to wear cologne is to squirt it once in the air and walk into it, you can also dab it behind each ear too. Sometimes people go crazy with the stuff, the other day a guy in my class was wear so much cologne that the entire class reeked of it. I had such a bad headache afterwards, so don't be that guy.

How about just a spray on the shirt, or inside the shirt....just a short spray?
