As a language lover and speaker of both Spanish and French I was not a bit surprised by the results of the poll. Spanish is hands down the most utilitarian language to study in the U.S. but French always wins these competitions for most beautiful to listen to and continues to hold its own in enrollment in U.S. high schools and colleges (admittedly to a lesser degree than Spanish) for this very reason. Not a day goes by when I don't use my Spanish but have been asked at least twice as much to say something in French just so people can hear it.

I love people speaking in Portuguese, there is something
about their language that I find very sexy!

Italian can be sexy, but it depends on how is spoken

and Spanish, meh!

reminds me too much of my mother :p

I watch a lot of foreign tv shows in different languages

Spanish
Italian
Russian
Chinese (Cantonese)
Hungarian

What about you guys?

lol that is me trying to type spanish but i am not fluent so probably made many errors!

i used to like spanish but after hearing it so much, it gets boring I guess, lol

English-English, so British, Irish, Scottish, Australian, etc, etc, etc...

I don't know what it is about that Anglo-Saxon accent, but it drives me wild...That, and I can actually understand what is being said...usually.

For me, the choice is clear. German, naturally! I've been studying German since I was very young, but I'm still not very good at it...

Whilst in the army, they taught us how to say in Russian:

Don't shoot! I know secrets.

How helpful is THAT ?

;)

Jerr

American Sign Language. Silence is Golden!

OK, I'm kidding. It's a tossup between Irish Gaelic and Brazilian Portuguese. But ask me tomorrow and I'll probably say something different.

Depends on how close you are to a gun, I guess! But did they tell you the "secrets" you're supposed to know?

I love to hear Russian, too. I'm slowly, slowly learning it.

No offense to anyone, but I just don't like French. To me it sounds like the speaker has cotton balls in his mouth and cannot finish a word. Trouble is, I'm going to have to learn it. Eh, whaddya do?

LOL I knew I was going to catch hell from you for that! Love ya, Andre

It gets confusing. Why do people refer to those speaking french as Francophones? Technically a francophone would be the phone that General Francisco Franco used and he was Spanish.

But I digress. I like english because I know people are not saying rude things about me.;)
