Long time lurker, first time poster, and what a first post in my opinion.
Ok so I have this friend who I've known for the last 3-4 years, and we've been pretty close friends. About a month ago, I kind of started this running joke in our group of friends that he and I were going to get married.
Now the whole group of friends are a fairly "touchy" group, as in hugs when we arrive to where ever we hang out for the evening, and groping for a laugh.
Anyway after starting this joke, I started to get a little more touchy with my friend. I'd put my arm around him, rub his back, play footsies (yes I know childish), and we'd wink at each other and blow kisses. Now I was pretending to be playing all of this off as a joke, but I was actually serious about it. I was pretty sure he was just taking it as a joke and nothing else.
Well then I started giving him a kiss on the neck or cheek when I hugged him, and at first he was startled, but soon didn't mind. He would even reciprocate the kiss on the neck or cheek. Now I was taking it really serious. Soon we'd be cuddling on the couch, telling each other we loved one another, and calling each other "babe", "hun", "sugar", and the like. Still I wasn't sure if he was serious.
One night we were drinking with friends at my apartment, and we both got fairly drunk. He went upstairs to use the bathroom and I followed him up there. When he came out, I gave him a big hug, and then we kissed on the lips twice. However, after the second one he said that it was enough, as in he was weirded out. Eventually he fell asleep on my bedroom floor, and before we fell asleep, we kissed again. After this I was really starting to want more than a "joke."
Anyway a few nights later, we were hanging out with our group of friends at his house. We were sitting around a bonfire in his backyard, when all of sudden a girl he works with shows up. Now I must admit at first I was a tad saddened. The whole night he had his arm around her, and I was certain he was never serious about "us." Afterwards I made it known to him that I felt like he was replacing me. He told me he wasn't and that he shouldn't had brought her over.
The next night while hanging out with friends again, I announced that our "wedding" was over. I then texted him that we could had had something together, and he texted back that we still did. I told he wasn't that affectionate with me, and he told me he would try harder. I then asked, "Like the other night?" He asked if I was referring to the drunk night, and I replied yes. He said "sure thing." I told then proceeded to tell him I was serious, and he assured me he was as well.
Anyway tonight I went over to his house, with 2 other friends. He seemed a little cold towards me. So I texted him "I love you," and he said the same to me. Well when our friends left, I was already laying on his bed, watching Family Guy. I then pulled him on the bed, and he laid next to me. We then held hands while watching television, and when I left I kissed him on the neck. He didn't kiss me back, but I think it was due to the fact that he was tired as hell.
So I'm not sure what to make of this whole situation. I know how I feel about it, but I'm not sure about him.
Just to give you some background, I'm 20, he's 18. I consider myself bi, and I thought he was straight, but now I'm thinking he may also be bi. However, I'm not really sure anymore. So if you've read this far, thanks, I really needed to get this off my chest.
