What's Your Weather Like?

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

There is snow on the ground from a storm last week, but
Currently 49F/9C & partly cloudy... so not bad, don't even need a jacket.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

I'm afraid I don't get the logic of this. If 70F (21C) inside is normally comfortable enough, why does it become too chilly when the temperature outside falls?

Humidity and draughts have a lot to do with it. Also, if you can hear the wind blowing, or it's snowing, it can have a big effect on your mental temperature. It looks and sounds like you should be cold, so you feel cold (or, at least, cooler).

Think of how humidity makes you feel warmer in summer. The opposite is true in winter. The room can be 21C, but it just feels 'chilled'.

Man frees birdie with frozen feet. Fly birdie fly.... :luv2:

That is cool. I saw a video the other day of a guy doing the same thing, but with two birds and he used a bit of warm water.

My place doesn't keep the heat inside. It is very cold by the sliding door and windows. The temp gauge is right by the air vent so it stops when the outer areas of my place is still cold.

Another mild day.

That is very poor planning. It should not be near any windows or glass doors, and should be as far away from heating vents as possible. It's not a big job to move it, you know. An electrician (or anyone knowledgeable about electrics) can do it, even if they have to put the electrical wire (it's not a cord) on the outside of the wall instead of inside it.

EDIT: By the way, if you have draperies on your glass door, you should keep them closed unless the sun is shining through it. The radiant heat is surprisingly warm, but the radiant cold can turn your room into a refrigerator.

My place is pretty small. I think the gauge is in the best place possible. I also close the blinds as soon as I can't see out.

82 and sunny here in Minnesota.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Salem is pretty much shutdown. It is coming down snow and ice. I don't know when I might be able to get out again.

I normally keep my temp inside at 70 degrees, but it is so cold I have it at 75 and I am thinking of turning it up again. Maybe I will drink some hot tea or hot chocolate.

My Partner and I live in Valencia, Spain it is a colder winter than usual. The Sky's are blue the Sun is out almost 10 hours a day and the temp ranges from 59f to 65f every day and 46f to 50f at night. It has snowed twice in 250 years once each time. I hate snow unless I am in a cosy cabin and someone else is making hot chocolate. We havev Central Air units in every room, by the end of April we will go into tems of 85F to 90F we get 17 inches of rain usually in October. We are originaly from New York City!

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Are you going skinny dipping in Lake Winnibigoshish? :corn:

No, but we expect to be camping in the Boundary Waters this weekend. Damned global warming. I blame Al Gore.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

We got about 5 or 6 inches of snow last night, but it's supposed to be in the 40's and rain today so i might not have to clean up the snow.
