What's Your Weather Like?

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

When I got up this morning, everything outside was covered with a thin layer of 'glass'
Unlike frost, that stuff can't so easily be scraped off your car windows...
(plus its really slick to walk or drive on  )

As for the rest of the day, it was dull gray clouds & cold - never got out of the 20's(F)

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

It snowed for a short while, but it wasn't even enough to build up on the sidewalk... and considering how much snow we already have on the ground, it's not even a drop in the bucket. Still, that didn't stop the dumbass on the rock station from bitching about the snow. I'm serious, he bitched about such a small amount of snow, you couldn't even fill a bucket with the amount that landed on the entire city.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Weather here continues to be wonderful for the middle of winter. We have had no frigid weather here (my definition: 10 F or lower), even overnights, since December, and there is none during the ten-day forecast either. Wasn't this SUPPOSED TO be a really cold La Niña winter? There has hardly been any snow here all winter, either - I think we had about two inches on the ground once in December, and tiny amounts otherwise.

You may not have it, but it is sure hitting us in Oregon.

Now excuse me. I am going to go buy my ice cleats now. I just got paid.

I sat on the terrace of a café drinking a coffee in the sunshine. It was exactly how living in the South of France should be.

Pretty much the same today, but the ice was thinner & atleast it got above freezing.

Drop 30% off that humidity value, and it'd be perfect!

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Took my uncle and myself grocery shopping. It was pouring down rain. I don't think I have ever been in such heavy rain. On the plus side it is just above freezing so we don't have to deal with the ice they forecasted yet.

Back in the mid-80s, I worked in a group home for mentally challenged adults. The complex was on the eastern banks of the Otonobee River here in Peterborough just north of the downtown core. On the western bank is a main thoroughfare heading out and into downtown.

One Sunday, I took some of the clients for a ride in the station wagon. I drove them downtown, across the river, and up the street on the western bank. As we left the downtown core, it began to rain. By the time we got to the spot directly across from the group home, it was torrential. The wipers could not clear it away and I had to pull over.

When the rain subsided, I continued up the street to Trent University, across the river again, then back along the scenic route to the group home. Whereas I couldn't even see the road, the group home on the other side of the river didn't even get a sprinkle.
