Yesterday's high was in the 40's...when the coldfront came through in the evening, you certainly knew it! The temp dropped quickly.

Basically the same in St. Louis. -4F, -30F wind chill, about three inches of snow.

My furnace barely stops running. It comes back on minutes after turning off.

I'm sure the Gas Company loves it.

This morning almost 60 degrees

Tomorrow 10

I might have to borrow Paul's hot water bottle. :)

Western NY at 7am it was in 30's with rain by 9am the temperature dropped to 10 with blowing snow we are in blizzard warning.

Well the storm, or part of it is now blowing through here, with wind gusts and fairly light snow.

It was minus 1c when we went into town earlier but I suspect will now freeze hard.

West Palm Beach, Florida USA Partly Cloudy 82 degrees F 28 degrees C. Wind west 16 mph gusting to 23.

Tonight the temperature plunge happens. Wind chill advisory, low 42 F 6 degrees C, wind chill 36 degrees F 2 degrees C.

Tomorrow Partly Sunny high 58 degrees F 15 degrees C.

Christmas Day. Low 40 degrees F 4 degrees C. Cloudy, high 52 degrees F 11 degrees C.

We have had a very warm December until now. These temps will be a shock.

Temp is 28F, but everything is covered in ice. Most of my county is closed down as even emergency vehicles are having a hard time.

My brother lives about 20 minutes away and he told me he is listening to an emergency scanner. They have been trying to get to a couple different people in a couple different areas for a few hours. That was about an hour ago. Hopefully they got to them.

I am in a couple of old home groups on FB. People have been posting ice build up inside their homes around doors and windows. Don't you live in an older home? If so how is your home doing?

When I lived in Indiana I loved that kind of weather: it meant the ice on the lake was getting thicker, and thick enough ice meant hockey games.

When the ice storm hit us I sat and kept an eye on the uninsulated window near the fireplace and watched the light coming through change as the ice got thicker and thicker.
It reminded me of when I was in Indiana and we increased the insulation on our rooms by spraying the windows with water and slapping blankets up -- they froze to the window.

It says 13 degrees at the moment. This morning's wind chill was brutal.

New Years day forecast almost 60.

Continual heavy mist.
It was nice enough to stop for almost an hour in the afternoon, so I got to take Knox for a walk. We spent most of the time in a grocery store where he went up to people and brought smiles.

Rain amount keeps shifting between not-quite-downpour to medium mist; winds are running 40 - 55mph with gusts up to 75 - 80 mph. The rain is continuous, so despite not being terribly heavy we've still got flood warnings.
