I know to a certain extent this is ridiculous because I am only 21, but I've started to feel old. I don't know what it is exactly, but it certainly is starting to happen. Maybe it's because now I can remember something that happened a decade ago like it happened yesterday, or because some of the kids in the electives that I've taken were high school Freshmen when i left school. Or is it, the fact that I now have friends who have kids and are getting married. Or maybe it's because there are celebrities who are younger than I am.

I don't know but all I know is that I feel like I'm old, and truth be told, I LOVE it, because I know that when I was 18 I thought I knew it all. Now I'm 21 going on 22, see that at 18, I was ridiculously immature. Don't get me wrong like all 21yr olds I also think I know it all, the difference with me I think is that, I know that I know that when I'm 40, I'm gonna look back now and think, boy were you immature!;)

I felt old the day my mom went away and I had to start paying my own bills.

I was 15.

Seriously, though, I know that I'm young, and I surely feel it. I'm just having the time of my life for now...

feeling old hasn't happened yet!

when did I feel mature or responsible?

when my first child was born.

LOL, I'm somewhere in the middle. I feel old most of the time. The majority of my friends are four or five years younger than me, so sometimes I reference something from the late 80's and they are like I was only two or three. Yikes. True some of my friends are married and having kids. Ouch, I am too young too settle down. I remember my cousins being born and now they are 18, 17 15 years old.

That being said I might be old but I always get mistaken for a little kid. Even at my job. so its not so bad. well sometimes it is.

Feeling old are moments. I felt old, when I turned 21, everyone seemed younger . I felt old when I was 25. I felt old when I turned 30. I felt old when people at work stopped calling me by first name and referred to me as MR. ********. I still feel like I am 18. I feel old when I talk to people, and I think, been there done that. But also someone else thinks the same about me.

Old is a state of mind.

I may have the mileage, but I wouldn't change it.
Wow, I think that totally encapsulates exactly how I feel about this. People calling me Mr totally freaks me out, it gets worse though. In my culture, after a teen has been initiated into being a man, there's a term that all people younger than him have to use when adressing him. When my turn came about, I almost had a fit the first time somebody referred to me like that. I kept thinking, "You can't call me that! I'm too young for that!!" As for being called Mr... as cliched as it is, it always feels as though somebody is calling my father rather than me, I can't possibly see how I'll ever be able identify myself as Mr...

That's a great way of looking at it, sadly I lack the maturity to be able see it as maturing. I just plain see it as OLD.

I started to feel old when I turned 37. I had a bunch of health problems that made me feel much older than I was.

I first felt old, not older, when my father retired. This is silly, but my first thought was "now my parents are on a fixed income, and if I screw up, they won't be able to bail me out." Talk about making it all about me!

I've found though that (so far) the positives outweigh the negatives. I work a lot with college students, and I'm always left thinking "I'm so glad I'm not 18 anymore."

  1. When I had to get my first pair of glasses.
  2. When I started losing my hair.
Other than those two things I don't feel old. Looking old is a different story.

i felt old time, when you start to miss your past, then you are old.
i wish i could turn back time

I feel old right now. I've started to tell people I'm one year younger than I actually am.

Might as well get a headstart.

Little things hint at it. Like yesterday, when I had to take something into bright light to read the fine print. And I was already wearing glasses. :)

But I don't feel "old". I feel "experienced".

Turning 22 hit me pretty hard, even though I know I'm still ridiculously young.

The first time I tripped or fell down or something in a dance class and hurt the next day.

I felt old when I hit 18.

Ugh, I'll be 19 in October. Life sucks.

I don't feel old at all.

I feel like an 18 year old.

(Anyone know an 18 years old I can feel?)

it is ridiculous

old starts at 36 when you are mathematically closer to 50 than 20.

but it doens't kick in until sometime in your mid 40s.

Once you get to like 48 or 49, you can start adding 40 to your chronological age to get your age for as the gay community sees you.
