When did you first notice????

I was watching a show tonight about being naked in public....viewpoints from around the world...and I got to thinking about when I first became aware of my body and the changes that were going on with it.....not really puberty but maybe a little after as puberty just happened but one day you just look down and say "damn that got bigger" or maybe you are less likely to get naked in front of others because of one thing or another. My 11 yr old son has not gone thru puberty yet but is very interested what is about to happen with puberty but concerned as well. So I am wondering more and more about this. When and where did that "wow moment" happen for you? Did you talk to someone about it? I am not really talking about sexual arousal but your body and how you view it....sort of a coming of age to a great degree?

I have 6 brothers -- and lived in a dorm for MOST of the years during that time -- so public nudity was part of being who I am I guess -- never really bothered me -- nor did I ever really pay attention that much to MY "stuff"...

Every NOW and then I'd get a boner in the dorms communal shower (as did everyone else) and it was just something we laughed about...

so that is interesting....I would think growing up with communal showers there came a point when you realized that your "junk" was used for more then just pissing....that every guy's was different and girls were different. I would think with 6 bros you would have had a clue that things were going to be vastily different with your body at some point in time in your near future.

OMG - MY NUN teachers would NEVER be talking about "upcoming changes in crotch hair - or anything else in the 4-5th grade!!!
It just sorta happened...but it was a very very long time ago so maybe i don't remember -- but i remember my dad sitting up in bed on Sunday morning (shirtless) and his gorgeous hairy chest - big biceps and hairy arms too---- and I'd pop a boner in my little PJ's and wanting to leave - so he didn't see - and wanting to stay to enjoy the view -- and i was only 6-7 for sure.
Kids today grow up really really fast ---A 7 year old recently told me all about HOW COME he's getting a baby sister !!!!! aaaahemmmm.... pretty hep parents i guess..

7 year old kids knew that kind of stuff 30 years ago when I was growing up in Canada. Health class was no surprise because the family had already covered it. People didn't believe in hiding things or lying to kids when you could just explain it at an appropriate level for us in school.

Everyone always talked about puberty and I was a late bloomer I already knew what to expect to happen by the time I first noticed my body change so it wasn't a big deal. I noticed other boys changing at like 11 or 12 and I always felt left out.

I remember it was obvious for me also my closest friends where always telling me "*points at my face* hahaaaa!! you got a moustache!!" ha! so stupidly idiotic but it was so freaking annoying!. The pubes started so quick i dont remember well i was so embarrassed it i was trimming it and shaving it by 5th to 6th grade, now i just do "cool hair shapes" hahaha

The armpits!!! ohhh lord, for me that was the most embarrassing thing in all the universe!! i would trim it constantly or made "no rise arm movement" on PE class you know "Shirts vs No Shirts" i was always making shure i was a shirt!! if not, ugh i had to take 1 for the team lol and the SHOWERS UGH!! everyone looking with no shame (me too hehe).

And about my dick, i knew it was bigger because i started masturbating early (i caught one of my cousins doing it so i gave it a try and haven't stop since that day ) and it started to fit properly on my hand, i could grab the shaft and the head was more far away and that's where i knew. And my mom was working as a secretary for a sexologist.... so it was annoying! listening to my mom talk about sexual stuff and her boss talking about masturbation and condoms haha!!
