When I started criticizing the younger generation for how they dressed. Something I swore I'd never do when I was younger.

I don't know if this counts, but it was when I was in my 31st year and was teaching at university, and heard that a colleague was attempting to sabotage me, I thought. "So this is what it's like to be in your thirties." (A few years later she told me she was going through a "life crisis" at the time which led to her actions and apologized.)

This was probably the year another colleague whimsically said that I'd always look 23. Would that be the case!

Fifteen years on I don't feel old or even older. Maybe weathered.

A week ago, I met up in a pub with some friends for the first time since the Covid crisis first hit, and it seemed as though more than half of the patrons looked like they were about 15. I almost felt like I wanted to ask them, 'Do your parents know you are out drinking?'. They must've all been at least 18 because this pub is very strict on under-age drinking, i.d. cards, etc. But I felt like I was surrounded by children.

Thanks for remembering that. It turns out that it is a rare form of MS, just found out last week. Still processing. More testing is required.

My late lover Jack was going to have false teeth made. Almost nine years after his death in Paris the plaster mould the dentist made for him is still at the head of my bed.

Jack didn't wear his falsies but could articulate brilliantly (maybe that was his education as a theatre and opera director speaking?). Also, the men whom he sucked always came again.
