So I asked this a long time ago, but was wondering again. When did you last change your insurance company?

I just changed companies because my auto went from $118 to $137. My new company is $72 for auto and I added renters for $9 a month. On top of that I get more insurance and lower deductibles for my auto. Also both are set for 12 months, not 6 months.

I just changed from the company I changed to back in 2017 for a way better deal. Higher full coverage, renters, $1M umbrella coverage, $0 deductible for collision and $250 for comprehensive. All for about $97 a month. My old place was wanting to start me paying $140 a month for way less.

And in a couple months when I get my debt management stuff done I can add life insurance as well for cheap.

It might have been 50 years ago. I don't pay much attention and am satisfied.

I think the last time was 2 or 3 years ago. Insurance companies tend to offer low prices to new customers and to reward loyalty by hiking up premiums for returning customers. I always check on line and don't hesitate to move if I'm offered a better deal.

Same here
Last year my premium went up by about £30 so I called them and, lo and behold, it came back as £20 less than the previous year!

I'm with the same company I was when I was in college; and, was still on my parents insurance. Once I graduated in 1978, they just rolled my name off of their policy and set up one in my name. Haven't had any reason to change.

I've never changed my auto insurance company. I'm still with the same company I had as a teenager and I am now retired. I feel I get very good rates. They have my auto and home insurance. I get a nice discount for having my 2 autos and home insurance with them. I live in a area prone to hail storms. I paid an extra $1,000 back in 2009 for hail resistant roof shingles and that gets me 30% discount on my home insurance policy for the life of my roof.

I just changed last month. I'd been putting it off for quite a few years and, for the same coverage, my savings per year is about $395.

I was told once from and insurance saleswoman that you should shop for around for it every few years, and changing often doesn't effect your rate.

I personally shop around every 6 months. I tend to stay with the same company a few years before they price themselves out. I do have one agent I always check with first though as I like him. He is the only business person I have asked a question to and he said he didn't know. When he called around they didn't know either. I like he was honest with me.

I don't drive. I cycle. Even distances where other people would drive a car. Especially distances where other people would drive a car.

When we moved to our current state 14 years ago, we got a home and auto multiple policy discount that includes a policy on some property we probably can't replace (the policy, that is -- our current company wouldn't write one like that today). So, I'd have to split those. Might be worth paying full price on the property if we can save a lot on the car elsewhere.
