  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

When did you realised that the World...

Look where the guy graduated from - said Gabriel Burdett, who holds degrees in education, applied Scripture, and physics from Oral Roberts University.

Unless i am mistaken, and please correct me if i am wrong but i do not think Oral Roberts University is accredited by any of the major educational organizations that are responsible for accrediting and monitoring our major universities.

So i would assume his degrees are basically :rotflmao:

even a local village idiot can figure this one out.](*,)

The worlds not safe for anyone, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality.

There is always going to be someone who hates you based on one if not all of the above options. There is always going to be someone who wouldn't give a second thought to killing you based on one of the above options.

The good thing is, there is always going to be people who fully suport and fight for the right to be part of the above options.

See im not a bitter queen.

... is not a safe place for gay men (well most of it anyway)? When did you went from a gay teen filled with hope to a bitter old queen?

Cuz I´m turning into one, and I don´t like it :(

actually i turned from being a teen without hope(i thought) to being an out proud gay man.
highschool was not the best place for for me........

never looked back and never felt unsafe here in toronto being a proud gay man.

i may be a bit bitter but it has nothing to do with my sexual orientation.
that's a constant and that's part of who i am.

I NEVER thought that the world was a safe place - for anyone.

When I was 4 years old, John F. Kennedy was shot and killed - while protected by dozens of Secret Service Agents and Police Officers.
Two days later, Lee Harvey Oswald met the same fate - while surrounded by the same level of security...

When I was in grammar school, they taught us to duck under our desks - to be safe from Nuclear Weapons designed to destroy cities...

Malcolm X - Murdered
Martin Luther King - Murdered
Bobby Kennedy - Murdered
John Lennon - Murdered
Harvey Milk - Murdered
Gianni Versace - Murdered

If money and power cannot ensure your safety, what can???

If money and power cannot ensure your safety, what can???
Obstructive

you create your own safety

when the gay cancer showed up and we waited for the governments to help us and they didn't.

we created our own support systems.
and we helped each other as much as we could at the time.

we created a community since then and we protested .
for our rights and
we changed the world.

help your own.

As a teen I was clueless.
I was a young adult before I knew that many disliked gays intensely.
I will never be a bitter old queen,
not will I tolerate becoming a bittler old person.
Life is too interesting to do that to me or others.

To answer your first question. I realized the world was not a safe place for gay men when I heard my friend tell me that a gay man was stabbed and killed in Riverside, California.

I'm no longer a gay teen but I'm not a bitter queen like some people....

The realization of how hostile the world is to me and my kind didn't make me bitter: it made me angry. And that anger makes me militant, makes me want to do something. And I think that's good.

All of my relationships falling to pieces before they even got started is what made me bitter. And not having the sense to drop dead sooner made me old. I was born a queen. And so there you have me... angry, militant, bitter, old queen.

I don't think anybody dreams of growing up to be a bitter old queen, but neither does anybody dream of growing up to be a grocery clerk. But somebody's got to ring up the groceries, don't they?

The thing is, my parents wouldn´t mind me being gay, but if they knew how much many people in the world hate us, they would be heartbroken. ](*,)

Why would anyone hate just because other people did?
Sure some people hate gay folk, other people hate Christians, other people hate those of us in the United States.

Im only a bitter queen because I think there are far too many stupid people out there.

As for the whole world hating gays. I would say MA is pretty gay friendly, sure there will always be some opposition to anything "unconventional". Im a little bit surprised that more gay couples havent been flocking to MA to get married. I think its the cold winters.

I didn't.

What's your obsession with saying that gay men end up miserable? According to you, they all end up "flamers" and "bitter old queens."

I knew the world wasn't a safe place when I was still in Elementary School. I am not however a bitter old queen. Bitter maybe but not Old.
