there is dissention everywhere about everything --

I don't mind the memorial sevice - as an event -- (and yes - this belongs in the other thread -- i know - but people are getting "over emotional"there --

memorial service fine - but tooo many speakers have gone to great length to comment on "innocence" - fighting for equality" -- overcomming EVERYTHING -- He did not live in the 60's -- He did not fight/die in Viet Nam.... He made music - and a lot of money .

like i said -- I cannot confuse this man with MARTIN lUTHER kING.

i just hope that when i die - everyone will see me for the FABULOUS WONDERFUL person THAT I PROBABLY wasn't !!

Michael Jackson goes down in the record books for donating to most charities of anyone. He talked to those African leaders about addressing the issue of AIDS in their country. Something they still ignore to this day.

20% of his estate will go to charities of his choosing, and he was truly about giving back to underpriveledged people.

Does he deserve it? Yes he does. What other man can say they have fans in pretty much every country in the world. Including the muslim world.

He made music yes, music that changed the landscape of music, like the Beatles, like Elvis. Music that reached across racial barriers. He made music that reached countries that would rather not let anything from the West in.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were people in North Korea who knows who the man is. And not just their government officials.

He did make money, and he gave a lot of it back. He worked hard to help people.

Jacko was both admired and laughed at... Oprah is basically a riot.
Michael Jackson was first and foremost an artist, a GREAT one (even if I personally wouldn't mind if his entire legacy disappeared tomorrow from the face of the earth); Oprah is just a fucking guru
