When the air was clean and sex was dirty.... was sex a bit more fun? If every sex act under the sun is somehow "normal", will it become boring?
Is the line between vanilla and kink becoming fuzzy?

I guess it would depend on whether or not exposure to graphic sexual content at a young age is able to sway a person's preferences and/or turn-ons. I'd be surprised if there were no ongoing studies examining this. I'm kind of glad there was no internet when I was a kid. Back then, sex was a titillating mystery, but with the advent of the internet it's just another pepsi commercial.

Depends on how deep you want to delve...

I would define kink as anything that is more than playfully adventurous.

Role-play and costumes would not be kink, IMO, unless they became necessary by one of the participants.

Food play would be of a similar stripe.

S&M would be kink: bondage, cutting, asphyxia, clamps, burning, master/slave.

Scat would be kink.

Multiple participants would be kink.

Animal involvement would be kink.

Mechanical devices would be kink.

Drug involvement (beyond ED or other medical aid) would be kink.

Exhibitionism would be kink.

Wrestling or obsession with bodybuilding, is kink.

Preferring a tatted or pierced or addicted partner would be a preference; needing the partner to be so would be kink.

Needing an unusual location (car sex, workplace sex, tree sex, bike sex) or anything like that, becomes kink.

And crushing. And God knows what else.

Human sexuality can venture into some mighty strange territory. I'm wondering if aberrant sexual behavior is due to a rise in kinks and fetishistic drives, or is it just people's way of squeezing as much as possible out of a biological function/urge that basically exists solely for one purpose.

I am not really sure.

My bottom line has always been when consenting adults are the participants I see no difference between vanilla and kink as consenting adults is the only thing I really judge.

Thanks to two very unpleasant encounters with two guys who felt the need to share their fetish with me I was saying CONSENTING ADULT ALIVE HUMANS. One guy shows me a picture of his dog fucking him:bartshock and the other (super creepy) mortician decides to share in detail what he does with the corpses.

There is no fuzzy line in my mind for either of these acts but everything else with consenting adults is OK. What is "normal" for one person may not be normal for someone else.

The internet has helped like-mindless kinky folks find each other. And that's nice since they're not so much inclined to bug the rest of us.

And, of course, in every gathering, there is some degree of group therapy going on.
