No. I should, but I don't normally.

Oh Lord, I never knew that.

Why break the habit now after 20 years, eh? :P

I wash or dry clean everything before I wear it.

When I was a kid, my mom put the thought in my head that the underwear you bought has most likely been tried on by numerous people already.

Which I've always found ridiculous, being that I've never once seen anyone take store underwear into the changing rooms.

No one does that, right?

See I wear branded underwear (CK, Ralph Lauren etc), which are tagged and boxed- so that always reassures me whenever that thought crosses my mind.;)

Nope. They smell nice and are the softest they'll ever be.

If you buy "new" underwear in like hipster thrift stores then I would worry but since I don't, it never came to me that you have to wash brand new packaged underwear. I never been to a store where people even contemplate trying on underwear or stores that would ever allow that.

No i love the feel of brand new underwear, just wouldn't feel the same if i washed them first.

But what about the 20-stone hairy sweatshop worker who tried on the pair for 'quality control' before they shipped? How does *that* feel :P

man, i buy my underwear already wrapped in a plastic bag. chances are nobody's ass besides my own will have ever been in it so nope. i really don't give a fuck as long as i have underwear on. the feel, the fabric, the comfort of my life really doesn't fucking matter as long as i have some undies. some people can't afford them so i'm happy to have some clothes on me.

I only buy illgetbi's spunk-stained underwear, so I never wash it.

Yes.. I wash all new clothing before I wear it.

I get very allergic to new shirts if they aren't washed first. I had never thought of washing new clothes due to hygiene but more due to the chemicals they seem to have on them, especially dress shirts.

Weirdly, I had this discussion for the first time ever in my life this past Saturday night with some of the BF's friends. They're all proponents of the " ...must...wash...first... terrible... danger!" school of thinking.

^This. Label-whoring may be a terrible thing, but I do it anyway.

And very often the higher-end stuff is machine-wrapped around something stiff and cardboardy inside the box, so you can see if it's been handled.

^And also this.

Great minds, eh? Eh? :D You know it. (!)
