...And no, I don't mean 12:01am from the night before... ;)

I ask because I was looking through some pics I took in Key West in December, and it reminded me of what I saw at around 8 in the morning.

'Regular' looking folks just starting out their very 'Key Westie' day with beers and frozen margaritas and all manor of shots even before they had breakfast. :eek:

They were having a good ol' time while I just watched in amazement. I just couldn't start drinking like that first thing in the day. Well, I could I suppose, but I'd be asleep by 2 in the afternoon.

How about you guys ? Any drunken daytime stories to tell ?

the best i can say is i've woken up still drunk from the night before.

I remember vaguely being off my face at around 10 am on a few occasions when a dear friend of mine died a few years ago. She was a larger than life character and I guess I thought at the time that she would approve of me drinking to her memory and having a laugh, rather than wallowing in grief. I probably was in bed asleep by 2 pm but as the saying goes, no regrets.

I've woken up still drunk, but I never drink before 6, there just isn't point. I worked in a pub for almost 3 years seeing people getting drunk at 12 in the afternoon, I found it sad and not something I would want to do.

When I went to Mexico, we were there for about three and a half days, and there wasn't a point when I was drinking something that didn't have alcohol in it. We had orange juice for breakfast, but it magically turned into a screwdriver. We had Coke for lunch, but it magically turned into Rum & Coke. And anything after lunch was nothing but straight tequila and vodka, Pina Coladas, Margaritas, or Tecate.

Another time was for the Mifflin St. Block Party at the end of April '06. My friends and I woke up early, and we started drinking around 7 AM. The block party starts early and ends early, so we were just getting started. We ended up walking to the Henry Vilas free zoo in Madison... :lol:

I enjoy the occasional afternoon drunk (after 12 PM before 5 PM), especially on a Sunday and then asleep by 10 PM. It's been a while though.

I don't drink, but I have a roommate who will drink his breakfast if there's any left over from when he passed out the night before.

I can't imagine getting drunk before the sun rises.

Kegs and Eggs in college - about 6 or 7 in the morning.

Also, any St. Patrick's Day in college. I think I was taking shots of Jameson at about 8 in the morning...

!oops!

Those days are gone now...

what about waking up still drunk from the night before? i do that quite a lot at 6 am for work, i have a screwdriver now and then before going to work but never evough to get drunk, but i have gotten drunk at 11 am several times.

either that, or a buzz from drinking away a hangover
but I'm more partial to a good wake 'N bake :D

I guess that I am just too old fashioned. I've never been drunk before 12 noon. And I can count the times that that's happened on one hand.

I recall one particularly bad school year. We had our end-of-the-year party at a colleague's house after dismissal on the last day of school. I had arrived there at 4:00. Before 5, I was totally schnockered on this "special punch drink" made by one of my teammates. I was sitting on the deck, talking nonstop, and not making much sense. And the one statement made by the hostess...."No more mojo juice for you!" !oops!
