  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

When's the last time you went to a movie on release day?

When we went to see Brokeback Mountain, idiot girls in front of us. Flapping their gums instead of watching the movie. A couple foot plants in the back of their chairs got them to shut up.

All three of the original Star Wars movies. Drove three hours to Boston to see them with a group of friends. I spent most of the time in the lobby playing the pinball machines because I thought (and still do) that they were pretty stupid movies. Basically went along for the ride to and the chance to hang out in Boston after the movies.

Last night - Star Wars.

But it was a privately rented theater so not open to the public.

never have a problem watching the movies I like on release day. my problem is they are in theaters for a short time, as little as a week sometimes.

the last movie premier I went to was the last Harry Potter movie. I paid to go to a different movie and snuck into the Harry Potter movie because it was sold out and I really wanted to see it. there were several open seats so I didn't feel guilty that I took someone's spot.

I've never been keen/desperate enough to see a film to be prepared to face the crowds on release day. Often I wait for it to be released on DVD.
