Where can I find love and romance?

Hi Guys,

So I've recently attended a couple of gay bars in my area and I'm still not sure if I'll find someone special there to date...

Im 22 and I'm in grad school with a job on campus. I live 45 minutes away from the metropolitan area. (Baltimore)

I'm tired of posting things on craigslist and online social networking and dating sites.

I'm just trying to meet new friends and maybe find people to go on dates with. Lately I've been really emotional...every time I watch a romantic comedy, I get teary eyed! (I just watched "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds)

So I basically want someone to wake up to in the morning...or someone to hold at night. I want to have conversations with someone...some one to console when their feeling down or stressed and someone to do the same for me...I want to go on dates and more!

My question for all of you guys is, where can I find this person? Am I doing the right thing by going to gay bars and online websites? What have your experiences with finding boyfriends been? Where are the best places to find guys to date?

I wish I had more experience to help you, but I don't However, I can tell you that I was going to try and get more involved with my university and talk to people my age and such. My university has its own section or what not of the GLBT, you could meet alot of people like yourself there I'm sure.

you may have better luck with okcupid.com. Its how I met a guy.

I agree with joining a group or activity geared toward gay people (men and women). It is a way to get to know people on a friend level. Even if you aren't interested in dating them, you may meet other people through them that are potential dating material. That is always how I think of it. You are still in school, which should make finding stuff like that easier. Bars/clubs? Hmm. Not the ideal place to really talk to anybody, but you never know. As for the internet, the gay-only sites and craigslist are great if you are looking for sex. I think the mainstream dating sites like match.com and yahoo personals tend to have people more interested in dating and making friends. And, I have had luck on both. Not so much gay.com, etc. Bottom-line? You need to keep getting out there, potentially in all the above ways, to maximize your chances of meeting somebody or for some guy to express interest in you. In other words, nobody is going to find you if you stay at home. In many ways dating stinks, but it can be a lot of fun and exciting too. Good luck!

At work, at school, among your circle of friends, church, bars, bath houses......

Just chill for a while and make extra effort to make true friends. We all want and crave love, but it will find you in the end just wait and see!
