Where do sexual preferences come from?

It's very easy to see the wide variety of sexual preferences with just a quick glance around the various forums in JUB. As the saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." What one person finds attractive and sexually stimulating, another finds repulsive. Some like blonds. Some like hunks. Some like twinks. Some like older men. Some like ethnics. Some are into leather and some are into denim. Some enjoy watersports and some enjoy cuddling. Some are tops and some are bottoms. Some like short guys and some like tall guys. Some like skinny guys and some like chubby guys.

It's all good. No-one should decide for anyone else what they like (as long as it's legal), and no-one should be condemned for having those preferences (as long as they're legal).

So, where do all these preferences come from? Are they inbred into the brain or do they develop from experience?

i think like everything else it is a type of learned behavior. when you try something that is "taboo" and it clicks a trigger in your mind, the seed is planted to expand on it. but most people are afraid of their darksides and never try or learn the pleasures of taboo.

I am dating a straight basketball player while his girl is away. He does not consider himself gay, but he does say he, cares for me, mind, body and soul. He is so thug, masculine sweet and thats why i am dating him.

Even though some straight men will sleep with a man, Question is why are some men straight and other men gay, whats going on in the head?

What chemical/biological processes are occurring that rusult in gay or straight.

I would love to have a straight mind for a day to see if they really have absolutely no desire towards other men. I would go to a lockerroom and see if seeing naked men doesn nothing for me. I dont get straight guys sometime.

How can they all just shower naked in one big shower room like its no big deal. What the hell?

unoffically I have topped twice and bottomed once. In my mind it never happened. it was all done for the wrong reasons.

I think it's from experience, the group of people you hang out, or associate with you'll start to have a sexual preference for them. That's just me. I'm sure it changes with age, but I don't know.

I think the original thread was not specifically referring to gay vs straight but more to the point of where we get our 'turn ons' from.

Smooth vs hairy....

I think that changes over time. Lot's of guys go for the smooth, blond look, surfer boy look. Some guys like to a guy with a hairy chest. I think those attractions may change over time. Who knows why they are there to begin with, but I figure most gay guys will hit the vids or pics of those that fulfill their attraction. But when meeting a real person, someone that you can date and maybe fall for, those sort of ideas will most likely disappear.
Say you have always been a fan of huge dicks. You watch vids of those guys endowed and all your porn collections feature guys like that. Then say you meet a cute guy that doesn't have that huge dick, but he is nice and likes you. You hit it off, get along together, share the same interests, etc.
I figure only a very shallow guy would say 'hell, screw this relationship... this dude doesn't have a big enough dick, I couldn't be satisified with a 7 incher up my ass'.... course this is not meant for those guys that are only interested in casual sex.... that is a different matter entirely.

Presumably it's the same thing which makes some of us prefer Coke to Pepsi, and pictures of cityscapes to landscapes or seascapes.

That made me respond with the thought that honestly, I've never been able to understand how anybody could not find both sexes attractive.

I found mine for a good deal at the Used Sexual Preferences bin at a local thrift store.

Lucky you. I had to buy mine new, and I ending up paying the full price.

I usually found mine to the side or on the ground because that's where almost all gay people pushed them to.
