I have MSNBC on 7am-5pm to listen for breaking news.
Even tho I am retired from my career, I DO work at home. I can't
go all day just listening or watching news shows.
Then if anything comes up I need to check out, I go to these.
BBC America. I find BBC Amer most reliable for US news.
Washington Post
New York Times
CNN
Yahoo
Anderson Cooper is starting a show that comes on locally on NBC station.
I will watch that when it starts.
Local NBC news & NBC nightly news.
Corpus Christi Caller Times

As an "outsider" I'm always amazed how well-covered Midwest sports are by the NYT sports page*. I'll have to try the Post, though.
*I was really amused by a NYT column featuring Adam Dunn, White Sox "phenom," who is batting .162. Nasty... but true.
