I'm just curious where people get their opposing viewpoints from. I love to be challenged by those who disagree with me. I have no trouble with that here on this board, since I classify myself as basically conservative. But I love to hear people try to prove my beliefs wrong.
Do you seek out opposing viewpoints? Or do you prefer to associate with those who pretty much agree with everything you do?

I read one "paper" newspaper, two online news-magazines, one public tv news broadcast and i read a lot of forums :)

My boyfriend. I can't stand the news, television, newspapers, or the media in general. My bf is a few generations older than me and the conservative balance to my liberalism.

I believe in nothing, so i have nothing to lose.

Acccck! But what about the saying "If you believe in nothing, then you will fall for anything?"

I get my opposing views from experience, reading and socializing with people with the same/different views.

But to fall, you have to be tricked, and to be tricked, you have to believe.
I don't have this problem - at least not anymore(i'm only speaking in terms of politics here, btw). ..|

Oh ok. You know yourself better than me. I was just curious what you meant :)

I usually have one or two people I can turn to for opposing views...

Some of my friends simply take opposing views for the sake of having a debate, which also comes in handy.

It also helps that at present, all my politicians at a provincial and federal level sit on the right to FAR right of the political spectrum, which makes it easy to watch what they do and complain about it.
