Where do you live..?

My impression of Georgia is that once you get out of the Atlanta metro area, Georgia IS Alabama! If you want some action, I would suggest you check out Atlanta.

I think of Georgia very differently than Alabama. Alabama still actively and effectively suppresses black political power within the state, mostly through gerrymandering. Georgia's numbers make a big difference in dynamics. Georgia has more than ten million souls, over 1/3 are black. Alabama has only five million, and about a quarter are black.

This makes a real difference in political and economic power. The Democratic Party in Alabama is a joke. In Georgia, it's a viable force.

Both states have comparable area, so that means Georgia is half as rural as Alabama in population dispersal.

Alabama is also much more regional in racial demographics, the southern part of the state having the majority of the black population, and the northern part having a more Appalachian feeling and mentality. Georgia is not as regional, especially with Atlanta being in the north.

About every 20 minutes 🥴

Yeah, it's like that there. I visited Melbourne a little over 20 years ago (handsome city!), and my last day there, I was running some errands and was coming out onto the street from the building I'd been in about every 45 minutes, and the weather was completely different from when I had entered the building.

^ oooooooooooohhhh

We thought about it and then realized....nah...to much upkeep.

We'll just keep bunking dowen with Flossie and Ben in the barn.
