The Online Journalism Review reports on Jakob Nielsen's use of an eye-tracker to look at how different people read the Web -- particularly news. There are lots of interesting findings, but the best is the revelation that men fixate on any visible genital areas in photos -- even animals' crotches come in for a good eyeballing.

"Although both men and women look at the image of George Brett when directed to find out information about his sport and position, men tend to focus on private anatomy as well as the face. For the women, the face is the only place they viewed."

Interesting

Animal crotches???

I guess it would depend on the animal... :help:

Face first then crotch. If you walked around all day looking at crotches, you would crash into a lot of people. ;)

Speaking of crotches, I saw a theatre show today that had a male ballet dancer in white tights. A great look! (!)

I have to constantly remind myself to focus on faces. I have such a strong magnetic draw to crotches. At my last job I think one co-worker was aware of me being drawn to his crotch. Argh!!

The research showed that both gay and straight men look at men's crotches. As in they are looking at our crotches too. Which might explain the uneasiness with gays in the showers. If they are checking each other out, they know we would be too!

Do you think it means most men are a little bit gay? Or does it mean it's natural to check out a man's package no matter what you orientation.

I'm always fixated on crotch watchin - but I love "kind" eyes - a nice smile - nice hands (preferably big and "manley" but not "ruff" - and I evalutate everything - long arms - check for big feet -- everything.
